Xbox won't read discs for half an hour, any advice?

My Xbox won't read discs up to three quarters of an hour, but when it does, it's fine. Why is this happening?

I get this problem around every 6 months. I unplug the console, make sure the game isn't in the tray, then give the console a shake. You should hear the reader thingy move. Then I just plug it in and it works fine. I assume its just dust, so a cleaning would help.

That happened to me about a year ago, I found that this led upto the E74 error. just blow into the disc tray to clear dust and it should work okay. Unfortunately this does mean it will eventually go, but with a 3 year warranty who is particularly bothered? Itll only get fixed for free
