wow i am just getting immersed in this gen. To think about 3 is scary for my bank account and the fact that it should be far away. Anyways hmmmmmmmm hopefully there will not be a Xbox/nintendo/sony system i am hoping for a single system using all 3 companies ideas and input.
Slow your role, the 360 just came out. The next system is probably coming out in 2011. The name we will figure out soon, but I don't think the name is necessary to know right now.

Not gonna happen, competition is what keeps these guys going forward... Plus, the government is not very fonded of monopolies.
I know it would never happen but if it would i would not have to care about getting another system. The only problem if you have 1 group no competition to lower the price so it can be as high as it wants to be. If MS/sony/Nintendo all want a cut the systen would cost $1200 and each game would cost $120. With 3 different controllers and each costing $80. Maybe its not such a hot idea. I was just throwing out the idea until i looked at it.

Its no longer next gen any more, there was last gen (xbox, gamecube, ps2) and now "this gen" (Wii, 360, PS3) next gen will be when another set of consoles come out.
i reckon microsoft's next console will have a reallystupid name like "Bill Gates' magical fantabalous machine of mystery" but it wud kick ass and rule the video game world! :D
I don't care, no offense. I just don't want to think about another next gen system to come out because I got my 360 a year ago and wouldn't want to think about wasting money now. Sorry if I need to lighten up, I guess a phobia I have is being left in the past but having to spend money to not be. Weird I know.

we are in the current gen now... theyre still new so theyre still being referred to as next gen but it really is current gen.

I think it will be called XboxNext or NextBox. I read somewhere that these two names were tossed around when they were coming up with a name for the 360.
Xbox Quantum cause it'll be a quantum leap from the previous one. That doesn't flowto wellthough. Maybe Xbox Revo (for revolution). Or Xbox thrizzle...Lol.
yeah its one of their main names.. its either xbox 3 or xbox 720 and theyre gonna start making it in 2011-2012 when they look at the markets on those year for cpu..
First they will come out with an xbox 360 slim... It will be smaller and produce less heat....(like the 2nd gen PS2 which was an appealing design) and have HDMI in/out optical,250 GB hard drive etc.
Then we will see the next gen xbox around 2010. Perhaps it could be called Xbox Blade?
Since everyone is so worried about the ESRB ratings nowadays, the next generation of game systems will feature 2 different Xbox's. The Xbox 360^2, which will be designed for minors and will only play games rated Teen or lower. And the XXXBox 360, which will be able to play any game.
