The only video formats I have found to work so far are WMV and MP4. I watch "On the Spot" each week on my Xbox 360.

I believe MP4 support was only recently added, and will prompt for a download from xbox live when you first attempt it.

Hope this helps.

Okay cool thanks, that makes a lot more clearer. I cant wait till MPEG, AVI and other DivX formats are supported. Do you know if VCDs work?

Either way, i watch a lot of anime and i get it off my friend, so itll be really cool in the summer when i go on my marathons to watch them on my 360 instead of my PC which makes my room heat up like heck

Here's the formats you can stream with Windows Media Connect as of April 25, 2007. I'd assume you can stream all the formats the 360 supports so... [QUOTE="http://support.microsoft.com/kb/910637/en-us"]Supported file types The following file types are supported when you use WMC with the Xbox 360 console: Audio • Windows Media Audio (.wma) • MP3 (.mp3) • WAV (.wav) Picture • Windows bitmap (.bmp) • Graphics Interchange Format (.gif) • Joint Photographic Experts Group (.jpeg, .jpg) • Portable Network Graphics (.png) • Tagged Image File Format (.tif, .tiff) Playlists • Windows Media playlist (.wpl) • MP3 playlist (.m3u)

Sorry, I have no VCD's.

On occasions I convert an unknown format using "AVS Video Tools". Not sure if I am allowed to add the URL, but a quick google search should point you in the right direction. I am not aware of any good free tools that do the same job.

Hey all, this is my first post on the forums...I am just looking around and trying to 'up' my profile so I can comment on games and reviews. I don't even know if this helps it, but i'll post anyways.

I use 1080i HD with my xbox 360 and it looks sick! I guess all formats look nice but a great TV matters too. Make it a widescreen ;)

I know this is not interesting but oh well.

Lol congrats on now your second post! Just dont go down SW, whatever you do, please...

Either way, DVDs look horrible on any HD screen whether it be my 17" monitor or a HDTV, so they are best left played on SDTVs

Check out Orb, www.orb.com. It allows you to stream anything from your PC to your 360.

Conversion can take some time. There are various options for quality, but standard is watchable.

Its not something I would want to do often though. I might check this ORB solution out instead.
