I've almost had the 360 for 3 years now, with no problems. Just make sure it has proper ventilation as the above poster said, and you should be well off.

Didn't Slim revision reduce the chance of RROD significantly?

No it's not. I have the slim it's definitely a huge improvement. And I've had 2 RROD 360's and 1 that suffered from disk read error.

Yeah, the slim has considerably lowered the chances of getting the RROD

Never. It is a better built console compared to the older model. It's the whole reason why MS made the damn thing. It would be stupid to have a redesigned console and still have sh!t hardware.

Don't stress it. Just get one. It does come with a manufactors warranty. If you get one at Costco, Costco, well atleast the Costcos in california, give a two year warranty on xboxs, televisions, blu-ray players, and stuff like that.

Instal all your games too, saves a lot of wear on the DVD drive and lowers running temperatures.

The slims don't even have a ring, so it is literally impossible to get the RROD :)

You are just now buying one? RROD is the thing of the past. I own a slim and a old white hdmi console and they both work great. Just place it somewhere well ventilated, keep the system dust free, uhh lay it flat but not stand it vertical, keep it off carpets and you should be fine.
