It was my first current gen system (I always had outdated consoles before that)plus I got a broken one for $70 and fixed it up with some parts I got for cheap.
I got mine mainly because it was an amazing gaming platform. It was also MUCH cheaper than a mid range gaming PC and had the equivelance or more power than high end PCs.
I played through all the Xbox games I wanted to and the PS3 didn't have as many good games at the time so I went with the Xbox 360. I also liked the Netflix streaming capability of the 360 (it was announced).
Didn't really have a next-gen console, plus I thought the Kung Fu Panda-Lego Indy deal wasn't too bad, so yeah, and I only really played Lego Indy, didn't even think KFP was worth the time. :P
I got mine because it looks like the Xbox was the RPG platform this generation. Lost Odyssey was the main reason why I wanted a 360 in the first place.
Cause I was a Xbox fanboy... The original Box was better then the competition. New one is well supported but definitely not better then the competition. I still love my Elite, but emotional attachment isn't there after getting 2 refurbs...
I was gonna get the PS3 and then when i saw that RE5 and GTAIV were gonna be on 360 i got one since it was alot cheaper and the graphics were about the same.
It was getting big and i had recently gotten payed the day before and i went to gamestop because Halo 3 was coming out that week so i had to have the 360.
i got mine at just the spur of the moment. i was at wal mart and i was joking around and asked my mom if she would buy me one and she said yes so i got one. now all my friends and my cousins have it and we are on it all the time
I've wanted once since they first started talking about them lol. Ever since I saw the final design and it being played by people before it was released, I couldn't see a greater console to get. It has a nice library of games, best controller, and superb online play.
Because a friend of mine was selling it along with four controllers and the ability to borrow a great deal of his games for a long period of time back in December of '07. In fact, I was initially planning on getting a PS3.
i got ine cus i was tired of all the shovelware the wii was getting(my wii is now a professional dust collector) and the ps3 was just too expensive(including controllers games etc.)

Whenever somebody gets back to me about my applicatoins for a part time job, I will purchase one becuase the Wii just isn't that much fun anymore. Plus, there are way more RPGs on the 360, including FFXIII!!
Which one? I'm on my fifth :( In all seriousness though, this was the first of the new generation to come out and I was just so hyped. I'm glad I got it. I have had quite a bit of fun with it. I got it at launch. I waited a while to get my PS3 and Wii though.
