Simple....the games. Not to mention that I love the original Xbox and many of it's exclusives will continue their series on the 360 and I just could not miss out. I just hope that the thing does not lemon out on me like so many others continually are. (knock on wood)

i have owned nintendo products for a long time. i got the gc and there wasnt verry many games that i wanted to ply and my brother had a original xbox and i got to play some games ont but when my bro and a friend of mine got their 360's they told me al lthe games that they played that would like. so i got the 360 so that i csan play agenst my brother and my friend and to play the newest games that are coming out. lets just say i havnt regreted buying it yet.

well for me, my first system was the nintendo 64, then the ps2, and now the 360. o ya i also have a gamecube, but i never use it ( my bro does)

It was first next-gen console out. Have had Wii but sold it, motion sensing and outdated graphic wasn't my cup of tea.

I loved the first xbox (I was the only one out of anyone I knew that had one, and boy did I know about it...). So it was only natural that I bought the 360. I'm not really a fan of Playstation (even though I had a PS2), but Ive always had a thing for Nintendo, so I might get a Wii someday.. but 360's games are way ahead of the others...

My answer is pretty simple....Xbox Live.

No online service comes close to it....I get HD movies, demos, previews, and classic arcade games.

Oh yeah, It's also wicked stupid easy to play multiplayer games....with voice chat...and video chat....

I did own a Wii for a while, but the low resolution graphics just didn't work for me. I paid quite a bit for my HDTV, I want my games to support it. Also, the wii-mote wasn't that great for shooters, which was a big let down for me.

As for the PS3....well....it hasen't shown me anything I really need....once some awesome games come out....maybe, but they have to be some frakin' sweet games for me to spend $600 bucks.....

the game selection mainly. also the controller. the controller was the only reason i didnt get an xbox but i love the 360's

It's the only system I was interested in. The Wii looks cool, but when it came down to the Wii and 360, it was no contest.

I chose the 360 because the games on it realy appealed to me and also becuase the 360 had a years head start and had been through most of it's majour mishaps and also because you can link to media centre and xbox live is just amazing.

I chose 360 and PS3. I think that this generation, they will both be worth owning. I just haven't got around to buying the PS3 yet.

At the time it was the only new console out, so that is why I chose it. It has been a great system so far, I do plan on getting a PS3 as soon as there is more than one game worth owning.

I wanted Gears of War and had been tracking Crackdown since I first read about it, and both have proved more than a good enough reason for me, I play them both non stop (and Crackdown is just a demo!). Also Xbox Live, the price, the fact I can choose to buy the HD add ons if wanted, etc. I traded in my PS2 with a fews games, and got a 360 with a wirelss adaptor, 4 games, and it was still $150 dollars less than a PS3 on it's own!!! I like the idea of a HD DVD format, but I know I will be pruchasing and downloading HD movies online in 5 years so who cares right!?

For all the sweet games... Gears, Oblivion, xbox live arcade games, blah blah. Plus the Wii wasn't looking all that great and neither was the PS3 went it came down to which nextgen system i was finally going to buy.

I don't have an HDTV, so spending $700 on something that is useless to me would be a waste of my money. I also liked the large selection of games, that I liked for the 360, compared to just a couple for the Playstaion 3. Mainly, price was the ultimate factor.  And I figured, unless I stand outside for hours on end on the release date, I wouldn't be able to find one for at least a year. I also thought that the games that I saw for the Wii were to kiddish for my liking. I was not going to spend the money on the Wii just to play Zelda. Another factor was Halo 3.

Ditto. I got Wii launch day and own every other console and handheld out there. I wanted a PS3 at launch but I had to work so I couldn't get it. At X-mas I sat down and weighed the pro's and con's of XB360 vs PSP and ultimately decided on a 360 (mostly because of the lack of PS3's and of course, Gears of War). I never had an original Xbox because well, owning a PC, GC and a PS2 kinda made the system useless aside from an amount of worthwhile exclusives that can be counted using the fingers on one hand. However, M$ apparently learned a few things last time around and although I think the harware is a hunk of junk ( what do you expect, I'd prefer the Japanese to make my electronics, and cars for that matter) Live is decent and I needed a system to push my TV and resistance doesn't do it. I just wish the console had more to offer than shooters, which is why It doesnt do too well overseas.

I want to get them all... But I got the 360 first because it has a lot of good games out now, I like the consoles shape, design and interface. Plus I don't have money for a PS3 at the moment. I also had a huge urge to get a 360 (like a smoker needs a cigarette type of urge)... and now I'm having one to get the PS3.

Because I really liked the xbox and the 360's everything I want from a console, it's got the best first person shooters and when forza comes out it'll have by far the best racing game, (Grand Turismo is rubbish, don't care what you say). Xbox live is amazing, it works really well and the market place has lots to offer. "I sound like a microsoft sales man but i'm gonna keep going". It came out at the right time at the right price. the controllers are comfortable to hold, viberate and have triggers. (perfect for the games I like). As you can tell I'm a fan boy, but the main reason I got it is because I really don't like the rip off merchants that are sony. Because there TV's are well over priced like the ps3 and I thought it took the p*** that you had to buy £25 memory card for the ps2 or it was point less having games.

I picked the 360 for multiple reasons:

1.  I looked at the forcasted game titles and genres, and the 360 had more that interested me.
2.  Bad experience with my PS2 and other Sony hardware (DVD and CD players breaking, bad playback)
3.  Sony' arrogance when annoucing either the PS3's alleged capability, the numerous delays, the steep price point, and especially the childish name-calling after the 360 came out.   They sounded like they were worried and had no business plan, which became evident in the numerous delays and shortage of shipped units. 
4.  Oblivion!
5.  Gears of War!

i choose the 360 cuz tis was a great online gaming console great grathics...awsome games and cheap xbox live and the ps3 was to much money and i got like 15 gamess for it aswell
