While villains and bad guys normally aren't high up on my favorites list, the Joker is just too awesome. He's easilly the best super villain and is my favorite batman character.
I don't like the classical interpretation of the penguin, but I liked the edge that Danny Devito brought to him.
I've been reading the comics for about 5 years(I started when Batman Begins came out on DVD and it came with that mini comic).... here's my
Top Five:
#1 - Nightwing (Dick Grayson, the original Robin who grew up and became my second favorite comic book character)
#2 - Red Hood (Jason Todd - aka the second Robin the died at the hands of the Joker, but came back to life)
#3 - Hush (Thomas Elliot - Bruce Wayne's best friend who grew up to become his polar opposite)
#4 - Mad Hatter (Jervis Tetch - no explaination for him, he controls peoples minds and uses fairy tales as his gimmicks)
#5 - Killer Croc (Waylon Jones - before Bane showed up Croc was the original "stronger than Batman" villain)
Clayface has always been my favorite, hes a pretty dynamic character as well as a powerful adversary for batman, and ron perlman did a fantastic job of voicing him
Dying?Batman's mom and dad! Thanks for doing that(you pick what "that" is) and gave us Batman.

My fav is probably the joker but that is based solely on the movies. If I ever get a chance to read the comics I am sure that will change.
The Joker
Hush
Two-Face
Red Hood
Scarecrow.
I just love the stories behind them all. The Dark Knights take on Joker was just perfect. A mad-man who wanted nothing more than chaos. There was no reason for what he did.
Aside from Joker and Batman my favorite would have to be ClayFace. I just love the way Batman always defeated him in the animated series.
Batman and Joker apart of course......I gotta say Frank Millers commisioner Gorden, in Batman year one and the Dark Knight returns hes a tough dude and Bats couldnt do his job without him !
how could anybody like the Bane character...

most "macho" guys love the guy alot of muscles and could beat up Batman... I prefer Killer Croc, though. It's the smarter intelligent villains are what attract me to Batman though.
Whatever guy Arnold Schwarzenegger played.Ghost_WarriorMr. Freeze is a BA, but i like Hush, he just looks cool :-p

Hush is pretty sweet, i actually hesitate to pick a favourite character though as no one character is really groundbreakingly cool, what makes villains and characters in batman lore so awesometastimazing is their interactions with other characters and the world of batman itself. Going back into penguin lore, he's super cool as the nightclub owner / nefarious gangster, his political ties and ambition being what drives him in his less than legal life. Joker has always been awesome as he represents the anti-batman so perfectly, his drive and ambition not to kill or hurt anyone but simply to watch the world burn down with a smile on his face... who can't relate to that from time to time? Clayface is a super cool villain, but so is killer croc and in fact pretty much every batman character (minus some of the sillier ones, AA players should note; tweedle dee and tweedle dum, etc...) but really the ultimate batman villain is Ra's Al Ghul, as even more than the joker, he represents the yin to batman's yang, beyond Talia Al Ghul comes to represent another extremely interesting relationship with batman.
everything in the batman universe owns (except for those couple of neon, glow in the dark, campy arsed movies)
