got my 360 at launch. still going strong. I actually had some freezing early on, especially with PGR3 and Oblivion, but it all is good now. No problems, whatsoever, since I can't remember when. GO XBOX 720 in 2010

Actually thats terrible, my Mega Drive (Genesis) still works, thats been like over 8 years. Genesis has no moving parts. The MTBF rate (mean time between failures) for moving parts is 1/5th that of solid state electronics. Three years is a good life for any spinning media. Some will last much longer of course, but three years is indeed 'pretty good'.
I have two that have been working fine since launch in November 2005. Seriously, of course there are probably millions of people who had their original 360. What do you think, that everyone has swapped it out?
Bought my first one back in April 06, died a month or two later. The "new" refurbished one they sent me died about eight months after that. Just waiting now to see if they send me another"new" or will the fix the old one. I'm assuming it will be my third 360...
I had a launch system that worked perfectly until it was stolen in June then I bought another one that was made in April 06, it works just fine. So I guess Im not on my first, I just hope that it blew up in the face of the a$$h0le that robbed me.
I am still on mine, and from what I can see I wont have to exchange or get another one, and I take care of my stuff so.. my xbox is in good hands....... IM GETTING CRACKDOWN TODAYÂ YAAAAAAY!!!!!!!!!!!
I'm on my first and have never had a problem with it, I've even played for 40 hours in 3 days (I rented the godfather) without it overheating once so even after continued 13 hour a day usage it was fine.
Got mine June/July 2006. Been fine so far but it's starting to make funny sounds since I've been logging more time on it with Lost Planet and Crackdown. Getting kinda worried and I find myself looking at it alot more while playing since it's making crunchy grinding noises. I have an exchange warranty but I'd hate to have a disc get eaten.
I bought mine in November 2006 and started using around x-mas time. I've had a couple of scares but nothing that shutting down and restarting couldn't fix.
Had mine since Jan '06. No problems (except with Fifa 07) and between my wife and myself we have well over 400 hours on Oblivion alone, let alone countless season or NHL '07 and the hours spent on NFS:Most Wanted etc etc etc.
The only problems I've ever had are with Fifa 07. It tends to lock about 25 % of the time when i first start playing (usually when the game is loading). I restart the 360 and the game then works fine 100% of the time. I'm not the only one that has had this issue with Fifa and I have never had any trouble with any other game (no freezes, no disc read errors nothing) so I'm guessing it's a game stability issue and not a 360 issue.
Had mine since Christmas 2005. Play 15-20 hours a week on average. Never have gotten the rings of death or had any difficulties. Every once in a while my 360 will freeze, maybe from getting a little overly hot, but I have had some problems with a few games freezing about 10% of the time. Tiger Woods 07' and Marvel Ultimate Alliance. Nothing else though...
i just got my third one today! yup thats right ive gone through two faulty systems but idc i didnt have to pay for either i still had a warranty. I got my original xbox 360 on dec 24th 2005 and my 2nd one a couple months later and now this one i just got today. It was worth it though i love the system it just sucks to not be able to play for a couple weeks.hckydude1103
im going through that right now my first xbox which i got in late april just died on me on monday so i sent it away on tuesday and bought my crackdown copy the same day as to not make waste of a preorder anyways i wont be getting mine back like 2 weeks *sigh* hopefully less.
