who bets that the next Xbox will be the Xbox 180?

think about it. The Xbox 1 was built tough with great graphics, no technological problems like RROD and altogeather a great system. So when the next Xbox comes out they could name it the Xbox 180 and their slogan would be

"Xbox 180, Grabing the great and bringing it back"

or something like that . . .

Yeah the slogna is funny, although I think the origanl Xbox whas a good one I mean there where more than a dozen games that run on 720p on it and not only that all others where 480p. But it was not used to its full capicity like PS2 was used. Although the library was good, I mena there were couple of games that can give you good return for your money. But the problem wa sit did nt k8illed itself like 360 it killed its users sometimes the short circitu thing yeah its user mistake but that is way to big punishment for small mistakes. Okay the incident where only 25 in 25 million pieces olsd a ll the else where proper in working.

But XBox 180 no way man. Its said somewhere to be Xbox fusion. Yeah may be if MS appointed your slogan it will be suffering a terrific financial loss.

360. As in three hundred and sixty degrees, ala a sphere/circle. Ala different from a box an upgrade to the Xbox. They aren't going to come out with different degrees to rename the new Xbox, it was a clever title for a new and improved system. They aren't going to start pulling shapes out of their asses to tack new angles onto the Xbox name :P

Ha that would be ridiculous since 360 = full circle and 180 is only half that. The Infinity wouldn't be bad like someone else said. Before you knock that think if I had said the "360" would be a cool name for the current system before you knew that's what it would be. Or a certain Nintendo system that has a terrible name.

Or they could name it the 720 frontside and make it have a cool looking grille on the front which would of course help to stop the RROD...yeah probably wont happen though. nevermind...

lmao!!! i was waiting for someone to finally say that, for real the gamecube was a serious joke. It was a half-assed machine that tried to be innovative...luigis mansion was a joke, and well...i felt like a 5 year old with every game i ever played on the gamecube...

i really doupt they will add more degrees to the next xbox...i mean thats kinda dry and dumb. Maybe they will change the name all together, instead of the X-box...it will be the T-sphere or the Q-zoid, or maybe even the L-rhombus....damn with so many shapes and letters in the alphabet, the possibilities are endless. Not like sony with their boring numerical order.

That would be absolutely horrible marketing for a multitude of reasons. First they aren't going to say the 360 is "bad" which is what your statement implies. And in fact the 360 is amazing - it just had some growing pains at birth as all consoles do. The RROD is all but non existent with new models of the 360. I have owned both teh PS3 and 360 and trust me the PS3 is not without it's fair share of problems and annoyances - in fact my personal opinion is that there are many more problems with it than the 360.

I read an article yesterday speculating that MS will bring out the next xbox most likely for the holidays in 2009 - but will continue with the 360 line. The market strategy is that they will release a mega system that will be the next step but continue to support the 360 for many years to come as the more affordable platform. This would be following the current SONY model like they have done with teh PS2 and PS3. I think this would be a fantastic move for MS. They would offer the Uber Machine for the hardcore gamers who have to be on the cutting edge (that's me :) ) but they will continue to support and produce games for the 360 as well so as not to alienate their market share and fan base.

Anyway - I say no way on the 180 thing. I suspect it won't have a number associated with it but instead a distinguising name.

That is not a confirmed name - though you're right it is already in production - or pre-production to be more accurate. Any name that is made public prior to right before launch is a "code name" - so if it is currently being called the Xbox 720 - then rest assured that's absolutely not what it will be called upon launch. :)

A true gamer knows that graphics aren't everything--it's considered one of the many factors that make the system/game good. And as a side-note .....graphics can be improved, just takes more work(Yes I know I just stated the obvious).

In order to keep up with the evolution of the name they'll probably call it xbox sphere or something like that. 360 implies a circle on a two dimensional plane so a sphere seems like the logical next step... maybe? dunno.

Dude, that's like 2 years old, it's talking about the Zephyr motherboard that was released just before the Falcon models, It came on the original Elite consoles and the first of the HDMI Pros and arcade models. It did not have the 65nm processor though, that didn't come out until the Falcon. Please check the date on the top of the article before you post stuff.
