Do you think FPS RPG's are better or are 3rd person RPG's better?

JRPGs are the best IMO. Normal old school rpgs. Just a few FPS RPGs do success, but they are awesome. (fallout and soon borderlands).

It depends on the game really. I kind of like how Bethesda lets you switch from first to third person.

Third Person RPGs. They outnumber and outdo FPRPG by a mile.

Turn-Based RPGs FTW. Pokemon and Final Fantasy got me into gaming, and I've loved any RPG that's turn-based ever since.

Mhm mhm. My thoughts exactly. Only Bethesda never really pulled off the whole third person view in my opinion.

I loved Fallout 3 and mostly played that game in First person but it was also cool to go into third person and see what my character looked like. First person really makes it feel like you're actually playing which is the whole idea of the RPG.

It doesn't really matter to me. I play games like Fallout 3 and Elder Scrolls on 1st person because the animations in 3rd person looks like crap

I prefer Western RPG's to Japanse RPG's, partly because i'm not into turn based combat. Also, I haven't been attracted to a JRPG because of the art style and how cliche'd it is. Companies like Bioware and Bethesda are keeping their games original and I appreciate that.

There are a fair amount that have real time combat.

*Admires the landscape in Lost Odyssey*

Your loss i guess. Not to mention the variety of artstyles that can be found within the genre.

Cliche... Mainly spewed by people who are unfamiliar with the genre.

*compares those games with regular WRPG conventions*

*Compares ME with Kotor*

*Compares TES4 with TES3*

I voted 3rd person, but I also like the 1st person view. Depends on the game really. My all time favorite RPG is Oblivion which I play in 1st person mind you. I prefer JRPGs in 4th person or greater (by which I mean not at all)

Third person for me. To be fair, I don't think it's anything to do with that sytle of presentation, it's simply that my favourite RPGs usually are third person i.e. KotOR.

I don't mind. I'm a fan of western RPGs such as Oblivion, Morrowind, Fallout 3, Mass Effect etc, and they each have a mix of third and first person.

Third person by far. Also, pretty much all JRPGs are third-person.

Depends on the game. I've noticed if the character you play is more involved in the story and dialogue instead of just participating in the action, 3rd person is better (duh).
