Interstellar Marines - because it looks as though the developers are trying to push the boundaries of the FPS genre. I'm a little biased though, as sci-fi FPSs are my favourite genre of gaming, so I'm always going to lean towards those games more. If you look at the in-game sequences of the video, you'll see that the graphics rival Killzone 2. However, I'm also open to the fact that it could turn out average or even flop, only cause so many games do.

Scribblenauts :P But for 360 since that is what this forum is, I'm really excited about Assassin's Creed 2. I'm really concerned that all the exciting games of the year (Conviction aside though it's part of a series) have a number behind them

Edit: You said single, my fault

Either Borderlands or Brutal legend.

Borderlands for the massive co-op experience with almost a million different guns.

Or Brutal Legend because of Heavy metal theme /Tim Schafer making it.

I'm voting for Operation Flashpoint 2. It's a military FPS that relies on tactics, less fast paced than COD series, it takes 4 hours to walk across the map, bradleys with AA, looks amazing.

I've got a huge list of games I am looking forward to this year, but I would say my number one is probably Brutal Legend, although Batman Arkham Assylum, Assassin's Creed 2, Dragon Age: Origins, Alpha Protocol, Splinter Cell, Bioshock 2, Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2, and Dante's Inferno are all high on my list.

I know I am in the minority, but I don't care about Halo or Call of Duty, so those aren't up there for me.

Honestly, it looks like it'll be a hit. I think since they are adding more action, but still keeping stealth for hardcore splinter cell fans, will add more fans to the series.:)

I agree. I've been waiting eagerly for this game since when there was that old trailer showing beardy sam in some sort of plaza type thing, killing cops.

Although, I'm really excited about Batman: Arkham Asylum. Looks like a fun action adventure game, but with 100% of your RDA of vitamin Batman.

Do you reckon there will be an optional "Beardy Sam" costume unlock? I hope so.... Also, I kind of think Conviction back then seemed better than Conviction now. Although it was basically Assassin's Creed + Sam Fisher...

I doubt it, seems like Sam is more "Lone Wolf" in this game than ever. That said, anything is possible. I certainly hope to see it...local co-op would be a blast. Imagine using the "mark and execute" mechanic in tandem with a buddy. Ah joy :D

Forza 3 hands down.

Forza 2 is already the best racing game out there, and Forza 3 is shaping up to be quite a bit better.

- 400 cars

- 115 tracks(more than double the amount in Forza2)

- Huge improvement in graphics while still maintaining 60fps.

- Video editor

- Improved physics

- Improved tire modeling

- Detailed cockpit view for all 400 cars

- Improved camera angles in replays

- Advanced video editor

- Ability to upload race replays in HD

- Reintroduction of point-to-point races

- Support for top line racing wheel and clutch

- And for those into it, there's going to be drifting and drag racing modes, too.

All this is just what we know so far.....we're looking at the new standard in racing games.

My top three are probably Splinter Cell: Conviction, Dark Void, and Forza Motorsport 3. I'm mostly anticipating Dark Void because of everything! Vertical cover system, skyjacking UFOs, flying around on a jetpack, and let's not forget, shooting robo- aliens in the face. I wish this game would have multiplayer though.

Maybe you don't but I've been scouring the internet for any detail I can get. The absolute statement my have been too much for you., but If this game delivers on what they announced then that score isn't too far off.

I'm looking forward to MW2, NFS: Shfit, Forza 3 and Splinter Cell: Conviction. They're all up there on my most anticipated list.

Ah Jack Bauer. God bless him. That is exactly how I would have described "new" Sam Fisher. I love the it in the E3 vid where he kicks down the door, shotguns two guys in the face, then jumps out a window. What a hero.

My top three are probably Splinter Cell: Conviction, Dark Void, and Forza Motorsport 3. I'm mostly anticipating Dark Void because of everything! Not a bad top 3. Dark Void looks awesome, but will probably suck. Something tells me it will not live up to its (admittedly awesome) potential.

Forza 3 looks great too. I'm normally more of a PGR kinda guy, I even had MSR on Dreamcast (PGR's spiritual grand-daddy, in case you didn't know), but the new Forza looks epic. Closest thing to being the Stig.

Not a huge number of people saying AC2? Why is that?

Maybe you don't but I've been scouring the internet for any detail I can get. The absolute statement my have been too much for you., but If this game delivers on what they announced then that score isn't too far off.

If all games delivered on what they promised, then we'd probably never see a game score lower than an 8 or 9.

Heh, there's truth to that. This game seems be promising something of depth beyond just empty promises atleast imo.

APB. An MMORPG of Grand Theft Auto sounds amazing.

Yea, I've seen lots of games thathave potentialand promise to 'push the envelope' fall flat on their face, though. So forgive me if I'm a bit skeptical on rating a new IP without having actually played it. They could even deliver on their promises, but I've also seen games that did that, but then messed up some of the more basic aspects of the game.

Especially with shooters, its the smallest things that can ruin a game. If the hit detection is off, if the aiming feels sluggish, etc. They could do everything else brilliantly, but if these things aren't done right, then the game wont be nearly as fun. I mean, Call of Duty is a classic example of how you dont have to have fancy features or anything, but if you can nail the 'feel', then it'll be fun to play.

Yeah any little thing can cause people to criticize especially shooters. The game has to be near perfect or imitate another game in order for people to have fun with it. Even if everything doesn't fall into place I'll still have fun with borderlands.
