Ok ok, so I will tell you that Im more of a sony fan (please ignore that) but the reason I want to know what kind of xbox is the $199 one is because the fact that I havent really been paying attention to the xbox. Well time has come that I want to get a next gen system.

So id like to know. What is the $199 system and is it good? I dont care bout b/c. My gf family has an elite and it seems pretty cool. but I would only need something simple that will let me play Fallout 3 and bioshock, orange box etc....

oh and what kind of warranty does the $199 system have? Im nervous bout the RRoD... and I havent been paying attention to the xbox so what do I know? maybe they have fixed that problem:P

Thank you in advance for your responses :)

It's the Arcade version. Console and a Wired controller, thats all. No harddrive.

I suggest you pick up a Pro system. Thats $150, but it will save you money so you dont have to go buy a harddrive if you bought the Arcade. And that you seem to be only wanitng Single player games, you wont need to buy Xbox Live.

Xbox 360's (All versions) have a 1 year warrenty for all problems, and a 3 year warrenty for the Red Rings. It still exists, but its far less common than it was a year or 2 ago.

And welcome to the Xbox 360 community x)

Xbox 360™ Arcade, including the Xbox 360 console, wireless controller, and memory unit for game saves. However, Microsoft is offering a Hard-drive for $20 for people with the Arcade Console so they can download NXE.

The Console comes with a 1 year warranty (I believe PS3 is only 90 days). You can purchase an additional (2) two year warranty for like $61 (I did and I am glad as my Xbox wouldnt turn on anymore). You have 90 days to purchase the warranty if you dont have the money right away.

Wal-Mart is offering the Arcade w/Sega Tennis (or whatever the games called) for the same price. Other retailers offer close to the same deal.

this offer is only for people who bought the core version without any memory storage. the arcade version cums with 256mb of memory so it's not eligible for the hard drive upgrade

The Arcade is just fine for a start in the 360 realm. Also if you do get the Arcade, you'll get a 3 year warranty, plus you can get a free memory card for free from Microsoft by going to their website (or you can get a 20GB hard drive from them for $20). I doubt it that you'll experience the RROD, especially on the new models like the Arcade and PRO. So go ahead and grab the $199 one and you'll thank yourself once you do!

The Pro is no longer $250 bud its back to $299. It was only $250 for about a month over the summer before the 60Gb launched. The Pro is now $299 but comes with a 60GB HDD.

Its a great deal I just replaced my broken near launch 20GB Pro with the 60GB last week. Its a good investment and if your a 360 newcomer its the best choice to start with. The Arcade is pretty much useless, my friend has one and he can't do jack because he can't get DLC without a HDD.

Only get the $199 Arcade if you are replacing a system and keeping your old HDD. THats it otherwise you are not getting anywhere near the real 360 experience with the arcade.

Nope. Wrong. Since the Arcade memory card is 512MB, the Hard Drive/Memory Card deal is only good with Core 360's, which I'm sure is only about $150 if you can find one

Buy the premium console, It's the best deal out of the three packages.

I agree with this.

I should mention, a lot of those single-player games you like, may have optional downloadable content you can purchase after they come out. They refer to them as "Add-Ons". This can range from more gameplay features, ro new stages, items and characters, to full expansion packs, and it is very worth it, but you would need a harddrive to do any of that. There is a wealth of online features with the 360.

its the arcade version. it comes with a wired controler and a 512 memory card instead of a hard drive. i say get the pro since it has 20gigs, wirless controler. every 360 has the same warranty- 1 year warranty on everything, and 3 years on red ring.

Yea that's right I forgot they don't sell those Cores anymore even though I still seen a few floating around, I meant Core not Arcade too by the way.
