Well I bought mine from EBgames and i'm looking at the box right now. Its rated M because of blood and gore...the language...sexual themes...use of alcohol..and violence. This is a Canadian Rating which is usually lighter than the American ones. But EB Games and Gamestop are the same. I think M for oblivion sounds just about right!

It's rated M due to tons and tons of violence, blood, gore, and disturbing imagery (dead bodies hanging from ropes and on fire is just one example).  It was originally rated T but it was quickly changed once some people freaked out about how violent it was.

They use the ESRB ratings in both, so they're the same. What ever it's rated in America is what it's rated in Canada and vice versa.

My PC copy is Teen because I bought it on the day it came out, my 360 copy is M because they changed the rating later after somebody created a nude skin mod.  Yeah it's stupid, with their logic every game should be rated AO, but it's what happened.  Nothing that's in the game, just a mod that was created by a dopey player who put it on the internet for download.

Yeah, but it does happen with movies.  For example, I look at the back of the Saving Private Ryan box and it's rated 14+ here in Canada, but pop the dvd in and it's actually rated R.

for the record, this is the biggest bs ever. the rating is based purely on the fact that the game is moddable (like any other game, jeez)... ESRB merely needs to add a disclaimer like the one for online play."game content may change with modifications". jeez, stupid people.

It was re-rated M because of a mod that has to do with nudity.
