Thats cool! You can tell that their using the controller to drive that little robot, and view what the robot is seeing through that eye piece on their helmets. Since 360 is a American made and designed system it make perfect sence for them to use that controller.
its not photo shoped. They use robots like that everywhere in the middle east. How do you think they get rid of car bombs? Sometimes they drive it into places that they have no clue wats there. I saw a clip of one that has a machine gun attached to it. Useing a controler makes sense cause it gives you the most control possible.Â

Not sure if this is the same thing, but in the magazine Popular Science for January 2007 they have a report about a robot they are developing that is used to detect snipers that is controlled by a Laptop Computer in the field. The robot is named RedOwl, and is attached to a thing called PackBot which is what is controlled by the Xbox Controller.
Its a pretty good article for those interested see if you can find the magazine. Perhaps this is what this relates to?

Well, I can't speak to the feasibility of the Army using an actual 360 controller for a drone or a robot in a combat situation since I've never served (which is probably in the best interests of everyone involved.) I can however, as a graphic artist, say that those images do not appear to be Photoshopped. If they are its some of the best superimposing I have ever seen and someone spent a LOT of time on them. Technically speaking it would be simple to adapt a wired 360 controller (or really any USB controller) to control any kind of robotic device. The software commands just need to be mapped to the controls and it has a USB interface so the connectors are readily available and inexpensive.

Pretty cool stuff, well I'm still serving in the army, but I'm wondering if its the 11bravos or ordinance that have the chance to play with those robots. I'm a 91 whiskey so I don't have the chance to use robots. Maybe I chose the wrong MOS. Â

I dont know mate maybe he's a pilot? they have trouble recognising their own troops let alone rank.
