The Left 4 Dead Hype Train

Well, not everybody knows exactly what Left 4 Dead is.... This is my most anticipated game of the year. I got a few gameplay videos and a little info about the game itself to share. I honestly can't wait for this game! Who all here is going to be buying Left 4 Dead, because I barely read about any talk/hype about this game......

"About This Game

Setting out to do for co-op gaming what Counter-Strike did for team combat, Left 4 Dead is an ambitious survival horror game. Running on the Source engine, Left 4 Dead leaves four armed survivors of a world overrun with zombies, and they must fight their way out to escape the outbreak.

Designed for co-op play, the four players must work together to finish each stage of the game, lending each other artillery support, sharing ammo and rescuing each other when zombies are on top of them. In addition to the standard four players as humans, another four players can be amongst the masses of assaulting zombies, seeking to take down the other players. Zombie players might even find themselves become one of the four mutant "boss" zombies, who have unique powers that can be used to devastate, injure, tie up, mark and track, confuse, or even humiliate the gun-toting human survivors.'

Sounds good, but with everything else coming out, I probobly won't be getting it for awhile, if not at all. I still don't have my Fable 2 yet.

This is the game i want more then any other game this year. Online coop zombie action from Valve, i cant wait!

Looks like it has a great chance to be the best Online game of the year this year imo.

Yeah, but the game should still be great on the 360. I'd rather have it on the PC but my friend are on the 360 and my PC isn't good enough. Hopefully they are able to get patches and content out faster now that they understand how it works with MS better, that's what they said at least.

The game looks very repetitive. Mindless shooting, that looks like it would cause fatigue, after the first or two levels. I do have a little faith in it since it's being done by Valve.gamer082009

You say its a mindless shooter and repetative? And yet you praise Gears Of War online versus so often. Left4Dead is going to reinvent the way COOP games are done, zombie coop action with friends is a great idea imo. And doesnt look anymore repetative then gears of war or cod4 online imo.

I don't GET valve, for me, the orange box was ok (although my review would say otherwise) Portal was phenomenal, TF2 was great fun, Half life was an average shooter saved by set pieces...

Still, Left 4 Dead sounds cool, but i'm waiting at the hype train station at the moment

Exactly.

This will be great on PC with constant free updates, new maps and extra content. But if you want an idea of how the 360 will be treated, just look at TF2 - it's been out for a year and has had no content updates, or any of the many map exploits fixed. Virtually every game has someone playing outside the walls and despite constant "err... yeah... we're working on some DLC - trust us guys" type comments from Valve they have delivered NOTHING.

L4D is definitely a game to get on PC

But a game that you havnt even played yet is? Try readingt what your posting, its a joke.

Just because you like gears more then other games, doesnt mean everyone else has to aswell.

IMO Gears Of War is just as "repetative and mindless" as any other shooter out there. Not really a abd thing, but if l4d is repetative then gears of war sure is, the versus mode is repetative as hell.

i completley agree w/ u. Who cares if it's repetitive (most games r actually, shoot-kill-do it again) as long as it's fun i'm going to get it, although gears2 is top of my list and this comes in like 4th but i'm still getting it. looks mad fun.

TF2 is good. People still play it a lot today. L4D looks interesting. So many games, so little money...:(

TF2 is good i still play it too. The glitches and lag is what i was talking about.

agreed, valve always makes a solid game! Though I didn't like the idea of small SMG(Uzis, etc) just doesnt fit the zombie scene. and it took a little too long for the player to kill the zombie and to die, so hopefully there is a more realistic setting(i know zombies aren't real, but still!)
