I was watching a movie last night, The Original Saw (The only good one!) and I really came to the conclusion that although this is the third or forth time I've watched it, its the kind of movie that you can really only watch once, mainly becuse of the big twist at the end that reveals everything...

Without giving away too many spoilers for those who haven't finished them, what games do you think are only worth playing through once?

I would say a game like Turok is only worth one play through....the entire game is focused around one objective, and when you reach that objective theres nothing left to do.

Assassins Creed is another brutal one.....Great Game, no replay value

Chromehounds... not a popular game, but if you ever play the SP... you will never play it again... the SP in that game is horrible... it is an amazing MP game... the SP is complete and utter garbage...

there are some games that i own that while i love, i won't play again. skate is one, i absolutely love this game and it's one of my most played, but i highly doubt i'll ever go back and redo the single player "career mode" mostly because it was one of the most frustrating SP games i've ever played. and another one is PGR4, it took me like 2 months to reach rank #1, and with there being no real story, i don't really see myself starting all over.

I definitely agree with Bazanger on Skate, it was amazing while it lasted though :)

I didn't even beat it, but I'd say even if I did beat Bully that I wouldn't play it again. I'd also say Crackdown would be one I wouldn't try to beat again because it's much more fun once you have it beaten, and there's not really a story at all.

Alot of it comes down to personal preference. Some people replay RPG's over and over. I, for one, rarely replay any of my games, unless they're just that good (Bioshock, Mass Effect, COD4).

assassin's creed, i doubt i will pick it up again. it takes so long to do so little, also to mention the 40 min cutscenes.

As great of a game BioShock is, I can only play it once. I hear stories of people playing it more than once but nope, not me. At least with Assassin's Creed, I would go around collecting flags that I missed my first time through.

I totally agree. Bioshock was a good game but for me it didn't have any replay value. 1 play through and that was enough. Assassins creed while I would never go back and play the through the campaign. I sometimes go back just to get in fights with soldiers just because the combat is pretty cool.

This is why I think achievements were a great idea, they may seem stupid to everyone else, but I think they give me a reason to go back and play a game's SP again. BTW, I can never re-play RPG's.

You know Bioshock had 2 completely different endings depending on your choices throughout the game, right?

Thats kind of the same for me, I'm kind of pushing myself to go back through it on hard. I haven't been "addicted" to it though.

I can't play through Assassin's Creed again. It was a chore to get through it once. Although I did go back today and get two really easy achievement points and now I'm completely done with the game.

Bioshock. Its the same damn game every time you play it and theres no multiplayer. You already know the big twist to the radio delivered plot so whats the point.

I would have to say that games like Guitar Hero 3, Rock Band, and Madden have the worst re-play value. Honestly...who plays those games more than once?

Most games with the industry-norm, unoriginal single player are only worth playing through once, if that.

Thing about assasins creed is they made it bad for replay... you have to watch the unskippable cutscenes again, you cant play the first levels with all the equipment, you cant save in the middle of missions once youve beaten the game once, the out-of-machine parts are unplayable unless you start the game over, which erases your progress... ug they shoulda done better.

On the opposite end of the spectrum, i can play oblivion over and over again.

I think Gears of War is a game that you can only play once through. The plot is so bland that you can't really play it through again.

I loved Bioshock, tried going through it again but it just got boring because I knew everything and really didn't feel like "playing it in a different way" (aka using different plasmids and such) so I gotta say that and Assassins Creed as well even though I feel these are two of the best games out right now.
