So what do Gamerscore points do, exactly?

I never really found out what they do other than bragging rights. Could I use them for something or are they just for looks?

you could set a goal for yourself everytime. like reach 1000, reach 5000, 10000, 15000 and so on. but thats all. I had 6666 a few months ago so yeah some of them are funny but only last till the next achievement lol

well they dont do much apart from tell people if you really like your games. Some can be funny like mine.clyde46

I like the GamerScore system because it gives most games an extra incentive to achive some thing.

i.e. I beat Ninja Gaiden Black on hard but I felt like no one was going to know. I think it serves as proof of something you did. Also it helps to tell what type of gamer are you.

On the other hand I think playing stupid games for achievement points is useless.

what they do is this.

they tell you what achievement you have completed in a game. so that when you finish a game, you can go back and just try to obtain that achievement. they also let you know what difficulty level you finished the game or levels on.

and yes for braging rights to your friends.

When I first bought my 360, I thought those were the Microsoft Points to download stuff with lol. But no dude, it just shows how loyal you are to video gaming in my opinion.

There is also a leaderboard for them, which is a need concept cause it lets you compare yourself to other gamers in number of games played and stuff...if you care about leaderboards anyways lol

They're there to enlarge your e-peen.
