Agreed. Hitting a handrail and rolling away feels very satisfying in Skate, unlike Tony Hawk.

I also think its very cool. Its funny though. I understand how to ollie and everything, but i find that after i ollie ill want to do it again and i push the A button instead of flicking again, just because im so use to Tony hawk games lol. Yah it takes a while to get use to, but in the end it feels more rewarding because u actually have to line up your tricks. It also looks very detailed and smooth.

I want to play it but i don't like downloading big files from Marketplace it takes forever, so i'm just going to wait for it to come out and rent it.

(have yet to play it)

But I'm wondering if it will be anywhere near as fun (does it even have offline splitscreen) as THPS (2 for the PS / PS1 to be exact) was with another person.

Meh.The controls were a little difficult to get used to...but I'm probably just used to Tony Hawk.

The controls are much more intuitive than TH. It feels more like you're controlling both the skater and the board as the player, not just one solid object. The tricks, rather than being scripted button combos are all based on the movement of the analog sticks, which is a vast improvement and the direction video games such as this should be moving in (FNR3 comes to mind). There's no button for grinding a rail, rather the board just simply must land correctly on the rail. It all feels very smooth and natural as opposed to mechanical button mashing.

i think the controls are fairly intuitive... it was much easier to learn than the TH controls imo. i thoiught i'd never play a skating game again, because i don't like the TH games. i like this game though.

I didn't really have an interest in skate all that much but after playing the demo multiple times (you only get 30 minutes), i'm definitely going to buy it now. It's a lot of fun because the controls are so well done.
