So in recent polls most people have said they either won't be buying the game or will be renting it. It's all for Battlefield 3. With all of this I just can't see COD doing as well as it has in the last few years. How do you think it will do?

I'd say MW3 will sell OVER 9000!!!! Sorry I had to do it. Honestly though it will probably be a little down sales wise when compared to the Black Ops and MW2 because of Battlefield 3, but it will still sell far more than Battlefield 3 or any other game out there. Personally I'm more interest in Battlefield, but I can't deny how popular COD is.
it will sell like crazy, possibly eclipsing black ops. the online forum community of gamers is such a small portion of the gaming population that using online polls as a base is pretty fruitless. it will be huge.
MW3 already has more pre-orders than MW2 and Black Ops had at the same time. I think it will still sell very well, at least 2 to 1 against BF3.
At the very least, ten million. Thats a modest prediction.
I thought sales would go downhill after Modern Warfare 2 but Black Ops outsold it. I'm not going to try and predict if Modern Warfare 3 will sell better or worse then Black Ops, but I can say with absolute confidence that it'll sell over ten million units.
As for Battlefield 3, I'd say it'll sell around five million units.
Nah Halo Reach sold 5 mil in the first week and Battlefield is at least just as anticipated as Halo Reach.... then you have to realize that Halo Reach sold those 5 million ONLY on the Xbox, while BF3 will be multiplatform. At the very least, ten million. Thats a modest prediction.

What makes you think it's just as anticipated as Reach?Well just as much if not more if that's what you're getting at. I don't know about people who stick around just Xbox or just PS3, but on the PC side, people are going ballistic over the game. I myself am extremely excited. Preorder for me. Maybe the game isn't as anticipated as I though.[QUOTE="vashkey"]

i'm not basing my numbers on anything but the numbers themselves...that and every version has sold more than the last.

[QUOTE="Black_Knight_00"]Analysts predict at least 20 million copies soldSantesyuit will shock me if it did sale 20 mil. CoD4 sold 15 million copies. MW2 sold 21 million copies. Black Ops is approaching the 20 million mark as we speak. Why should MW3 fare differently?
Code word "kids". People with a memory that lasts longer than 3 months usually have a bad taste in their mouth for Call of Duty.Modern Warfare 3 will outsell Battlefield 3, I don't like it but that's just how things work, kids beg their parents to get 'cod' for Xmas and then Parents blame videogames for violent behaviour.

Because Battlefield is not a violent game, only CoD is, right?Modern Warfare 3 will outsell Battlefield 3, I don't like it but that's just how things work, kids beg their parents to get 'cod' for Xmas and then Parents blame videogames for violent behaviour.
