No joke, I live in Edmonton and thats what those clowns said, i phoned again today and they said this exactly"They're not making those [XBox 360 elites] anymore." WTF!!!??? Microsoft confirmed that the Xbox 360 elite was permanent NOT LIMITED EDITION.

Whoever told you that is very mistaken. The Elites are limited right now, but MS has already confirmed that they are ramping up production on them & they will be readily available come this holiday season. So no worries, you'll be able to find one then. Good luck!

The bestbuy store in my town has them, only thing it says is sold out. So ya they do carry them but people bought them. Again stick to October thats when I'm getting mine, there should be plenty out by then.

More of the Elites will become available before Christmas.

They are there to combat a possible PS3 price drop.

local:

target had 3 on shelf

walmart had 2 on shelf

then i went to gaemstop = none

i just got my elite from best buy about a week ago, so whoever you talked to on the phone, either a. doesnt know their ass from a hole in the ground, or b. just flat out lied.

I work at a Best Buy here in Toronto and we only got a shipment of 30 units on the elite launch. We have never recieved a shipment after that for some reason. No body that works at our store knows whats going on with the elites either lol.

I seriously think no one even cares about the Xbox 360 Elite.

I came in today at 8:30 and there were 6. I left the store at 4:30 and there were still 6.

People are not steadily buying 360s. However people are steadily returning them. ;)

I've never seen a console with so many ****ing problems. Inventory devos out 3 or more every week!! No joke.

I had a guy call into Customer Service today and was pissed because he had bought a 360 and a week later and then it broke. So we exchanged it today and he got home and he said it turned on for 2 seconds then turned off and wouldn't turn back on.

I hope to God Microsoft NEVER gets with IBM and makes a computer. They seriously need to fix this problem. It is seriously out of control.

I admit that I do not have evidence to support the idea that the elite is a limited edition console, other than the info I read on Xbox-Scene by the guy from Microsoft whol leaked the Elite early this year.

There was talk about a white version of the Elite taking its place in the future. Have no idea if thats true or not.
