Sitting on my bed was an Xbox 360, I already had Wii, PS2, and a DS Lite. It's a wonderful day! Well my parent's told me they would never get me one. I am so wowed right now. The problem is though, I made an Xbox live account and everything, I'm downloading a demo of GRAW 2, does it take a really long time cause it is, are all downloads supposed to be that slow. I need demo's because I have no games right now...ty.

ur very lucky i have to save up :( for mine. And the demo doesnt take that long.
Well it's my 17th birthday, so im still at home =). Anyway Now i have gameplay power house(wii) and graphics power house (xbox360) best of both worlds =)
first congrats on the xbox, and the downloads always take a while there is just a ton of people downloading all at once, and i can tell you gears is a great game and i also like cod3 for the multiplayer they are both fun

the longest any demo or download ever took for me was 15-20min and i think that was shivering isles or the crackdown demo...five hours is friggn unbelievable
As with anything concerning the internet it all comes down to your isp. I've known people that go out and buy the latest computer thinking that they are gong to get lighting quick downloads and such but then don't understand why it's still so slow. Your equipment doesn't really matter unless you've got a virus or something slowing it down. What really matters is your isp intrastructure. If they have not been keeping it built up to keep up with their customers then eventually your internet speed will start to slow down and then it's up to your isp to put a lot of money into it to get it back into normal operating specs. But overal enjoy and have fun gaming.
I don't think I received anything as expensive as a 360 for my birthday. For Christmas, yes I have but my birthday was pretty much cards with money all the time.

How is your 360 connected to the Internet? Via Ethernet cable or via Wireless Network Adaptor?
Wireless is slightly slower. Anyways are you using a router and are other PCs using the Internet at the same time?
That can slow downloading because the router is delegating your bandwidth to you and a PC.
Overall this may be a wake up call to upgrade your Internet speed.
Then again maybe not.
Demos are very large files. Usually over 500 MB. Which can take nearly an hour to download with High-Speed Internet.

Mainly your internet connection sounds like "teh suck", but larger demos take longer to download (and I think that one is fairly big). A lot of games allow you to play them while you download demos so time will fly by. :wink:
