[QUOTE="DranzarTypeF"]I read reviews, watch the gameplay videos, ect, but sometimes your still end up with a dissapointing game. Look at his profile pic? do you still think he never watches reviews? ohh yes I love ur profile pic :) and for me its gotta be Cod WaW i was really expecting moreResearch, reviews, word of mouth, gameplay videos etc....all prevent this feeling "disappointment".
but FAR CRY 2 was a real downer.

GRAW. Loved the PC game, and I heard that the 360 version was different and also good. Well, it was different, I'll give it that.
Conflict Denied Ops. Most games in this series have been pretty good, superb Co-Op, & the Conflict Global Terror game was my favorite PS2 game. However, Denied Ops failed to even be a decent game, moving away from everything that made Global Terror such an awesome game.
GRAW & GRAW 2 has some of the best Tactical Co-Op & Multiplayer game play available on the 360. It's single player is nothing to talk about, I'll give you that, but it shines bright through multiplayer.GRAW. Loved the PC game, and I heard that the 360 version was different and also good. Well, it was different, I'll give it that.

This has never happened to me. I have never been disappointed by a game I researched first.
Same, unless you count playing my friend's copy of Call of Duty 4. Not disappointing though, since I had incredibly low expectations in the first place.
Mass Effect. played for 4 hours. Was totally bored for most of it. Have never played it since. What a let down.
I don't think I've ever payed full retail and been let down since I pay full retail so rarely. Like someone else said, forums, reviews, word of mouth, rentals all prevent that. The two game that I played that let me down would be:
GTA 4 I was really into trying the multiplayer that everyone hyped. Total garbage
Bioshock Played it about 3 months after release with all of the hype going on. Thought it was absolutely mediocre.
Nicest surprise: Lost Planet and Test Drive Unlimited
Too Human easily. I had such high hopes for this game, bought all the hype, waited for it, got the pre-order, was the first person at the Game Crazy on it's release date... and starred slack jawed in dissapointment about 40 minutes in the game.
I rarely buy disappointing games, but I guess Street Fighter IV disappointed me (I was puzzled what all the fuss was about - if I had played all the other games in the series it would probably be better, but as a newcomer it was just ....bland)
Other games include every NFS game released as of yet on the platform (bought Carbon and ProStreet on sale, but was let down by the poor coding/framerate, which is a no-no in any racing game imo), Dead or Alive 4 (same reason as SF IV)
Some people mentioned Mass Effect, Bioshock and Oblivion, which happens to be some of my all-time favourites on any platform, so each to their own I guess :)
Mercenaries 2, that game was **** up bad....I just dont understand how u could screw up a game that bad
Oblivion for me.. :(.. i got it and was happy.. then i got really really bored after a few hours.. :o
This is a tough one, I pretty much love any game I own... TBH I suppose the most disappointing buy was Condemned 2... I loved the first one and the second showed promise, but it just... Felt like it tried too hard to be scary. Sorry C2, but you kinda suck.
Was never really dissapointed with a game as I make sure I know what I'm getting before I get the game. With that said I was probably most dissapointed with Halo 3 campaign. I though the first few levels were truely magnificant but I felt that towards the end the developers got lazy and the quality of the final levels were sub par. Overall I did love the game, except for that.
