I think it has to do with Halo. I think Microsoft are gearing up for it, because I can imagine there will be a huge boost in numbers of people playing online.
The fall update is still weeks away, whereas Halo is in two weeks. No matter what your opinion about Halo is, it's a big release and it's online. I really think they're gearing up for Halo. I wonder if there will be any server problems on that day?

i dunno....there weren'tany server problems when halo 2 came out was there? I do remember it taking like 10minutesto find a game though....
They are probably doing maintenance on the servers to gear up for halo 3's release. You know a ton of people are gonna be playing that online from day 1.
