Don't know because I don't have XBL, but I find Left 4 Dead to be very overrated games. They are very short, they only have like 4 or 5 missions and each one can be beaten in about an hour. They do have another mode where you can play as a zombie and hunt down players, but that also isn't very long.

Left 4 Dead is a good rental to play with a friend, I wouldn't recommend buying it. Just my opinion though.

Left 4 Dead - great game, fun times, especially if with friends. Not sure the online community anymore. Did not care for the second one.

Yeah I know...alot of people said that 2 wasn't a good follow-up, I tried the demo and I thought it was "OK".That's why I'm hoping that the L4D1 online community is still active.

Get the second game and purchase the cold stream DLC for $7. It adds all of the L4D1 maps and makes the first essentially useless. white_sox

Cool, thanks for the heads-up!!!

the 2nd is much more recent, so you'll see more activity online. AND L4D2 has splitscreen multiplayer in case you have a 2nd controller and a friend. L4D does not.

This.. no reason not to get the second one when you can just get DLC which essentially gives you BOTH games.

At this point you're better of buying L4D2 and buying the DLC which will essentially give you all of the content from the first game and then some.

L4D2 is more active. I'm pretty sure the first one is dead on xbl.

Basically, buy Left 4 Dead 2 and the DLC. You'll have new maps and all the old maps from L4D1. One guy earlier said that you can't play splitscreen on L4D1 which is not true. Anyway, you're in for a great experience, and I highly recommend you find a few buddies who are committed to playing through many of the campaigns with you. The online is only active at night and even then, there aren't many people online anymore unfortunately. So find a friend or two or three.

Well...that's the problem. Left 4 Dead was meant to be played online. I agree that the purchase isn't worth it if you don't have XBL, but if you do have XBL, the online Versus mode is one of the best competitive multiplayer games that I've ever played. (especially with friends)

2, definitely. I'd recommend just buying on PC if you can, though, as there's much more content to be found there for free, if you're not just looking for splitscreen.

I prefer L4D 2 since it has better graphic and control, however, the story is not very good. But to entertain, it's still better than L4D 1 __________________________________ Magestore is the leader in Magento extensions

L4D1 had the better campaigns, gameplay, and characters L4D2 had the better guns and melee weapons.
