John Marston VS. Cole Phelps

I always thought that no character could be better than marston but phelps is making him a run for his money.

Haven't played LA NOIRE yet, but it has to be one hell of a game if what you claim is true. Cant wait to play it.

John Marston! I love john, i think the voice acting for him was amazing! Besides i havent played L.A yet but i have watched a ton of videos and will pick it up soon but in my opinion john marston was an epic character and nothing else come's close.

Maybe its just me but I find coles character a little over-the-top. haha I cant take him seriously at all... To be honest I think red dead was an unbelievable game and the ending was just unreal. The game actually plays with your emotions... not many can do that for me...

John Marston may easily be one of my favorite character of all time... I know that seems a little intense but considering the amount that I truly did enjoy RDR, it's not that far out there for me.

I don't think that Phelps himself is that great of a character. Had it not been for the facial capture technology, he would be just another character to get lost in the mix. I think some of the other characters in the game are far more interetsing than Phelps himself.

While I haven't played L.A. Noire, I didn't care for Marston honestly.

You, like the vast majority here, probably have not finished LA Noire. As much as I love John Marston, he was not too complex a man.

However, Cole Phelps, while he initially seems a stuck up simpleton, has an incredible story of his own, and is fleshed out much more over the game.

Cole may not be a bettwe man, but he was a far more interesting character.

Marston. I liked Phelps but when he decided to cheat on his wife I didnt like him that much

marston was just kinda bland, i think it was his voice actor that made him so likable,

phelps is reminding me of niko bellic as in they seem human appossed to many MC's in games, so ie go with phelps

John Marston by a landslide. Not belittling Cole at all. I just found Martson to be way more memorable through his dialog and overall character.

Not to play SPOILERS...

But Cole, a Silver Star recipiant... for not actually being a hero really in a company of guys who hated him... kinda lame.

The demise of both characters.... that one easily goes to Marston too.

John Marston is definitely the more hardcore character. Cole Phelps is more reserved (at least up to a certain point), but he knows how to use a gun and take down bad guys.

I do wish L.A. Noire had incorporated a good cop/bad cop system, similar to the honor system in Red Dead Redemption.

I haven't played LA Noire yet, so I choose John Marston by default, but Cole better be a damn cool character to beat Marston. Cyclone-Joker
