I'd recommend you get games for the console that you own. I've been in Best Buy and have seen people ask if PS3 games will play in a PS2, and even funnier, if DS games will play on a PSP.
if theres one piece of advice i'd give, it'd be to put a game at the top of your list at least a month ahead of time when a new game releases so you get a better chance of getting it shipped to you.
