How to change Gamertag??

So i know there is a way to change your gamertag but does this cost money? And I hear that gold will become free in the spring also. Would I be able to change my gamertag then?

You can change it at any time, it's 800 MS points. I also wouldn't anticipate XBL being free in the Spring.

Yeah just get some ppl to report it even if it's that. You'll have to change it either way.

Yea you can do it that way with reporting it but I changed mine with 800 Microsoft Points. But it's a real waste of money, so if you really need to change it then go with the reporting. But as with Xbox Live coming out to be free, yea that's just a rumor, lol. No way that's happening.

As people have said, you can change your gamertag through two ways, which involve paying Microsoft money and exploiting their complaint system. As for Xbox Live being free, that will not happen any time soon (or, more likely, ever), but there is going to be an overall price cut of the service coming this year.

BS. I know for a fact that they don't make you change unless it's at least partially offensive. It might only be slightly offensive, but it still has to be. MS has caught on to people like you and your friends.

Hit the guide button, go to the farthest right tab, select profile, select gamertag, then you must have 800 microsoft points to change your gt.

BTW - Xbox Live will NEVER be free. They rake in like hundreds of millions of dollars, you really think they would give that up?

How many people have to file a complaint before you're forced to change your gamertag? And I don't think it's exploiting the complaint system, we pay $50 a year to use live and then we supposed to pay $10 to change our name? It's just another way for them to get money out of us.

Changing your gamertag costs 800 MS points. Gold will never be free, stop listening to your friends.

Getting people to report you won't get you a free name change.

Microsoft fixed that, becuase they realized what people were doing, so now it costs 800 MP.
