...Except for the fact that Carmine was the one that got HIS FREAKING BRAINS blown out by a sniper when he was complaining about his gun being jammed. This dude with a helmet is a new dude with a helmet. Undoubtedly he'll just get blown to bits since if characters have nothing distinctive about them in anything (like Red shirts in star Trek) they die.

Your not understanding what he said at all. He's saying the guy who got sniped through the head could have been any soldier. They never stated whether it was Carmine or not.

Except THEY DID. You guys are SO stubborn. Replay the level, it's in Act 2. Carmine gets shot, the rest of the COGs fight the Locusts, and then after the fight Dom says something like, "Man...Carmine..." Seriously people, it's time to let go.

There were multiple "Carmines" in the first Gears too. The most obvious one being the guy in the beginning of Chapter 4 at the crash site who was somehow puking blood through his helmet.

Carmine is just a default COG soldier model with a name.

CARMINE WAS THE ONE THAT GOT SHOT! He was with them all the time! The one that got killed by the berserker was probably just another Rookie that joined them when the helicopter crashed.
