Have you ever bought a game and then sold it without playing it...?

I have a fairly large collection (20+ games on the go - all at different stages - I'm one of those gamers who plays a game for a few hours - goes to another for a while then come back to it a few days later)

I have (sort of) done it once.......it was Resident Evil 5 - i rented it and played about 1/3 of it......then later on I purchased it and when I finally got round to playing it I realised that I had deleted my save file and I would've had to start right from the beginning......so I looked at my collection and I have about 5 (recent) games to start - so I sold it.....:)

I always play my games and only trade in the ones i've finished. I occassionally dont finish a game but that doesnt happen very often.

Yes I must say i've done it a few times. I bought Transformers 2 and traded it before I even opened it, Splinter Cell Convicted, Rainbow Six Vegas, belive it or not HALO Reach TWICE!!! (second time I got it to trade and it was free anyways) same thing with Force Unleashed 2, and pretty much any PS3 game I ever owned othe than KZ3 and GOW3.

Never, that's incredibly stupid and wasteful. As a collector, I rarely sell any games I've enjoyed, and make sure to play every single game I own. Even if I did sell a game, it's only if the game was either outright horrible (see: Metroid Other M) or had no replay value whatsoever (see: No More Heroes 2, which let me down severely after NMH1's post-game content).

No, i am a collector and wouldnt dream of selling a game. I do however have games i haven't tried; when i buy a game i tend to focus on that game only until i beat it, which gives me a backlog of games waiting to be played.

No. But i did play Deadly Premontition for about 2 minutes then got rid. Same with F.E.A.R and Rainbow Six Vegas.

That's a shame, since the game is utterly brilliant after the first few awful combat sequences. Well...hilariously flawed, but strangely compelling.

Anyway, I never sell games. It's just never worth the money, and I prefer having a collection.

I never sell my games so nope; I have never done that :P. But to share a story on similar (kind of) lines, here is one for you: When I first got Tomb Raider Angel of Darkness for pre-order some 8 years ago (wow! didn't even realise...), it was fine at first, but then my first copy eventually got more and more glitched to the point that it was COMPLETELY unplayable, so I had to send in for a replacement (which was fine and I have had since). I even tried starting a new game etc. on the first copy, but the same problems were had (falling through the floor at the start of levels, textures not loading, interactive options just not working at all and will freeze the PS2 up).

When SSF4 came out they had some rewards if you had SF4 save data. The rental store didn't have SF4 so I bought it used on ebay got the save data then I gave the game to the rental store.

I bought Castlevania Lord of Shadows and returned it a month or two later. I didn't even take it out of the packaging.

Someone bought me one of the Spiderman games for the 360 (can't remember which one; it was years ago). I read the review and then decided to trade it in without opening the case.

I bought the Lego Harry Potter game when I was going through a Lego phase of score whoring, by the time it arrived I just couldn't face another Lego game so when it arrived at work on the Tuesday morning I banged it back on Ebay that lunchtime, buy it now for a few quid more than I paid for it... it sold inside 30 minutes and was posted that afternoon.

All in all it was only in my possession for about 3 hours and never even got as far as my house.

I traded in the original Call of Juarez without playing it. Bought it by mistake, thought it was Bound in Blood. I've been tempted to trade in Condemned, which I've only spent like half an hour playing, but I kind of want to give it a chance first.

I must admit the only reason I sell my games is time and money....

I need the money to purchase more recent games - and I don't have a lot of time to play so sometimes I don't get a chance to play games again....

Yes. I remember when Halo Reach came out, they had these collectible Halo Reach cards from ToysRUs and each card have a different special offer. The first card was also a $10 gift card or something. So you were able to buy $10 dollar games by using the card. The glitch was you were able to get as many $10 games because when the cashier rang up the games and scanned the gift card, the balance was zero. Anyway, I only got 5 or so free games using that card. And I sold it back to them unopened too lol. ToysRUs found out about it, and the card glitch was fixed after a couple days. I remember some people got like 20 games free, wow.

no, i would be extremely disappointed in myself for that. 1-for not actually trying the game and 2-for buying a game that i didnt want, seems like a huge mental error

Did sowith some tombraider game I got when I just had my 360. The name and nostalgia threw me off. i've learned to do some research before buying games since.
