Games that were so hyped and then stunk

Gears of War, I mean its a good game but not Game of the Year in my opinion. I wasn't even looking forward to it before it came out and then it gets all these amazing reviews and it becomes the most played game on Live so I get it and play it for a couple weeks and since then I haven't picked it up since.Ghost_Warrior

Stranglehold is a perfect example.gatsbythepig

i never truly saw super hype for the game, and the game doesnt stink its just short and the MP stinks but the game itself is solid i would have just killed MP and made it longer and tweaked certain areas

I'm actually loving the multiplayer. It's really goofy, but it isn't full of lag like I thought it would be.

Rainbow and Gears are the two best FPS games out there right now. Rainbowe has amazing MP but the campaign is not vey good. Even though I like rainbow better( in terms of MP, thats all i play ), Gears delivers on both the campaign and the MP. What is game of the year in your opinion?

I completely agree with GhostWarrior and BioshockOwnz, Gears Of War was not as good as i thought. I played it for a few weeks and never again.

Here is my list of let downs: Perfect Dark, Gears Of War, Blue Dragon and Lair

It seems pointless to name games like Bioshock, Gears, or R6:V. These are legitimately good games; you may not like them personally, but that does not make them overhyped, or bad games.

I'm going to go way back for a good example: Pac Man for the 2600. The most popular arcade game of all time is finally coming home! And it was horrible! The colors, graphics, sounds: nothing was right about this game. Now there's a game that really stunk!

what i have spent more time on guitar hero than any other game and i have 100 hours on oblivion. that game is awsome.

Bioshock, it didn't stink but I was expecting more than your traditional FPS.InjuredNoodle

multiplat ??? spawn on the xbox was fun but they ruined it

those three games are all great, as are the ghost recon games and rainbow six vegas....oblivion however was hyped to no end and then i ended up rarely playing it ....oblivion is the most overhyped, overrated game on the 360....this of course could change after halo 3 is released

Sure, call a game out for being a generic FPS, and then name 3 generic FPS's as your top choices. Two of which are war shooters, and one of which is a WWII shooter!!
