Just ordered Bioshock on Ebay with my new 360, and I really cant wait to get my hands on it. The game play looks amazing. Graphics seem unique and the atmosphere intensely artistic. My kind of game. I have heard some bad things about it though. People did say its overrated. I checked its scores and it got 9.0, (doesnt seem outrageous) and some people saying it should have received 8.0. Whats up with that? Do people here feel the same way? If so why.
I don't have a Hi-Def TV and this is still one of the most engrossing games I've ever played. I would suggest you don't play on easy. Hard isn't too difficult but on easy you'll barely get scratched by anything. I would say based on the games I've played this generation this is the best. That said I don't like GTA or MGS so take that with a grain of salt.
9 out of 10 of my friends didnt like it but the one that did like it says it the best game ever made. It personally wasn't that great the only thing i liked about it was the upgrading of weapons other than that it was just another fps. But i do hope you enjoy it tho =]
it's definitely not for everyone, but i really enjoyed it.
sometimes running around searching through everything to collect stuff got a little annoying. too much backtracking and what not. but the story overall is well worth the run through.

Bioshock 2 would be great. One of those games I actually see myself paying retail for, and I NEVER pay retail for games (L4D will be an exception...maybe).
I felt the game was overly tedious. Right at the begining you had to get a specific power to get to a location, but to get that specific power you had to go way out of your way to get another power, then go all the way back, and finally get the power you were after in the first place. It just felt like the whole game was that way, esspecially the part in the game where your stuck and to get out you have to keep going around and killing these people for some guy. I felt like just screaming "Oh come on! Get on with the freaking story already!". But I does have, what I feel, is the greatest plot twist in a video game, ever.

I'm actually playing through the game a second time now (never finished it) and I am dreading that part. There was also a part, which actually led to me not playing it, where I felt the story should have ended....but it didn't. Hopefully if/when I finish it this time, I'll have a different opinion.
It is a great game though in terms of atmosphere and tension.
ive never been so immersed in a game before. I loved bioshock!!! Just dont let anyone tell you anything about it, like spoilers or anything it will ruin the game all together. Have fun with it. and deff dont play it on easy!!! i wish i played on hard. i was on medium, but maybe i will play again :)
Bioshock is a great game, one of the best I've played on the 360. Deserving of it's score, the only gripe I have with it is once you memorize the game the next playthroughs are easy even on the highest difficulty.
Its great, I only play it here and there and I'm going back to it now because all the buzz about the PS3 version got me jonesing for some BioShock. For most people its a rent or a bargain bin purchase. But then again I got two friends who are both not that into video games but have beaten the game half dozen or more times and have all the achievements.
BioShock was an awesome game. Lots of cool things happening that you've never seen in an FPS. My only gripe is that all the guns and plasmids are underpowered. It takes forever just to kill one person, and you'll go through so much plasmid and bullets to get past one enemy. Not to mention fighting a Big Daddy will be one of the most exhilirating things you'll experience on an Xbox360, but note that doing so you'll lose almost all of your ammo and plasmid because it takes forever to take one of those things down.
the game actually gets easier as you get further through it, since you'll have more weapons and plasmids to choose from. it's actually the hardest in the first 2 or 3 levels and gets easier afterwards as odd as it sounds.
I didnt enjoy the game. I liked the first half hour or so of it and then it just became extremely repetitive. I agree the concept and grapics were really great but it was just another job to me, basically, to finish that game.
It was a great game. I really hope to see a Bioshock 2. Don't forget the DLC.andyrae11
I really hope that never gets made. I was upset enough when the first one got made. Don't get me wrong, it's a decent game. But I would have rather gotten SS3 then Bioshock, considering Bioshock was basicly a texture mod for SS2. If all of you who love BioShock havn't played SS2, go grab it with the mods Rebirth and SHTUP. Better game in every single way.
