Best Game Ever

Yea that was a great game, my favorite would be Medievil for the PS1 that was an ahh inspiring game when I first played it when I was like six. Still never found a game with an awesome vibe (I love Halloween and Autumn and the game has the mood):twisted:

i don't really know if this would be the best game ever but it is my favorite game of all time, that is Castlevania Symphony of the Night. I own this game for ps1 and xbox live. I've beatin it with on both systems with alucard and almost with richter. I love this game. scotchtapegoob

I'm playing Super Metroid for the first time right now, after already beating Metroid Prime 1 multiple times, and Prime 2, and Super Metroid is right on par with them, and is a fantastic game.

For me is Mario RPG Legen of the 7 star

I could never play a 2D game TODAY for these reasons:

Terrible graphics (lacks visual immersion)

Terrible sound (lacks sound immersion)

Terrible controls (come on side scrolling levels!)

The only thing which would draw me in would be the story, since a story is a story and that is it. But when compared to Metriod Prime (which is in www.gamerankings.comtop 10 best games of all time), it doesn't stand a chance TODAY (in my opinion).

Listen up, I do still idolize the groundbreakingly comprehensive challenges which SUPER METRIOD presented to the gamer, but TODAY that game is just too old to be claimed as the BEST GAME OF ALL TIME.

Personally, I believe that BIOSHOCK is the best game of all time. I mean come on guys/girls what game gets an overall average of 99% from 14 different review companies before the game is "officially" released to the public. That average may change, by I doubt it will go down 2% after hundreds of companies review the game. And if it did go down 2% anyway, it would then be the second best game of all time - runner up to obviously The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time!

I disagree, I think you really cannot compare Metroid Prime and Super Metroid and I would put both of them in my top 10 games ever (My personal best of all time, RE4). What you list for 2D games is true for some, but the reason I would still judge Super Metroid one of the best even without all of the technical prowess of today is that it is still incredibly fun to play 13 years later. Obviously no game over around 3-4 years old is going to hold up to the games that are and will be coming out in terms of graphics or sound, but if a game like that can still be fun now, I would rank it as one of the best, imo anyway.

As for Bioshock, I find it fairly likely it will makes its way into the top 20 games ever in terms of average reviews, but when most modern games in the top 10 (HL2, Halo, Metroid Prime, RE4) have around 80-100 reviews Bioshock still has a ways to go until its a sure lock. Honestly, OOT and Soul Calibur in terms of average score should not be ranked at the top because they have less than half the reviews of say Metroid Prime, but thats just imo.

Super Metroid, after all these years is still at the top of my list...

I remember buying that game from the store, taking it home and playing through it some unfathomable number of times. Not to mention The jump in gameplay that game when that game was released.
