I created a new account and yes Im connected to the internet. BTW isnt there supposed to be a message that tells that you are banned from Live? No...just go to the connection blade and theres something like a contract that says that you have been banned

Well the only thing to find out is to actually buy a gold membership and activate it to see if it allows me to play online.. which I already ordered it online.

If you connect to live YOU'RE NOT BANNED...If you have a silver account you can't play multiplayer games only with a gold membership
You wouldn't be able to tell that you had a Silver Account if you really had been banned... another thing, I'm pretty sure gamer tags get banned, not consoles...
