but anyways,i play the game for achievements.I feel they are the best thing inside a game.It proves that you have done something,like for example,beat through the fire and flames.Yeah if it was the old days,you can lie and say,yeah i beat it but i forgot to save!or something of that nature.Im yet to beat it,but when i do,i am going to brag to everyone!haha :P

I first play the game through once then if i enjoyed it ill go after the achievementsxxmatt125xx
I do the same.
I don't like reading through the achievements before I beat the game because sometimes achievement descriptions contain spoilers. I play it once and whatever achievements unlocks it's just by chance. Once I've beat it I'll check out what's left and see if any sound good to get.
The achievements have to be interesting for me to go after them. I don't usually bother with the collection ones like 'Find all audio diaries' in Bioshock, 'Find all Flags' in Assassins Creed and 'Shoot all TV screens' in COD4. Those types of things bore me to tears. I think only the most hardened achievement whore gets those. LOL.
It depends, if the story sucks like in GOW, GTAIV or COD4 i just play the campaign for achievements and then the multiplayer for fun.
But with other games like The Orange Box, i first beat it then play for achievements even though i dont care about the gamerscore i get, only about the achievement itself.
I don't purposely go out of my way in games to earn achievements, I seem to just get them on the way. 9 times out of 10, you'll earn most of the achievements on a game if you play it through to the end.
Wow I've never seen the word achievements butchered so many different ways by one person!!
I'm guessing the TC must play for the story then!!
I play through trying to get as many of the achievements in one playthrough, but if its going to take more than one pass, I'll enjoy the game fully the first time, then go back through for achievements afterwards

I like playing for achievements not GS. If i have finished the story and there is a bunch of achievements for doing certain things in the story then sure i will go back and get them.
The only thing i despice about achievments and GS is people who only buy a certain game for the GS.
Depends on the game. For example, I'm a huge Marvel fan but without achievements, there's no way I would have completed such a terrible game as Iron Man. Spider-Man, yes. Iron Man, no.
And it also depends on the achievement. Something like Mile High Club from COD4 took me a while, a really frustrating while, but once obtained it put a smile on my face. I'm not going to waste time playing games like Avatar or Madden 06 ;) just to unlock achievements.
Mostly I just play the game. I only play games that I have so I end up playing them for a long time and the achievements just come in time. If there's something that's hard a little out of the way then I'll try it out.
play the game, if im bored of the game maybe ill take a look at the achievement list and if they are i think hey i cud do that now, then ill do them to help distract me from being bored from the game. if i think im not going to be able to do that quickly or at all then ill just play the game and hope it falls into place. ive not had too many games that made me want to get the full 1000 points , never done one yet but had 2 or 3 that been in the 900s close. but i wont make a effort to play a game to get a achievement if im bored with it and moved onto anothre game, more like if im bored of doing maybe the mission im stuck on or sumit and just want something to kill the time
I play the game, and if I get an achievement, great. If you play games to only get gamerscore, go ahead, I don't care, either way we're both doing the same thing: playing video games.
