One Match to Make a Fan...

Sorta been on my mind since I wrote that thing on Jerry Lynn in OT. I was thinking about, if I wanted to make somebody a fan of a wrestler only using one match, what match would I want to show? For some guys, this was easy, there's one match that clearly stands above and stands alone, like RVD-Jerry Lynn. For others, its more difficult. What one HBK match stands above the rest? What match is clearly the best showcase of Chris Jericho?

So, it got me curious about you guys and what you think. What one match would you reccomend to try and make somebody a fan of your favorite wrestlers?

CM Punk - VS. Jeff Hardy at SummerSlam 2009
Jack Swagger - VS. Christian at Backlash 2009

Not necessarily my favorite wrestlers, but just some that came to my mind.

I would say HBK vs Angle at Wrestlemania 21 is a match that could make someone a fan of either man.-Fromage-

I also believe that HBK vs Benjamin in 05 in the Gold Rush Tournament was memorable enough to attract new fans

On the other hand, I have disliked HBK-Angle more every time I've seen it. I can't even identify what it is, I just do not like that match.

For Michaels, there are so many matches I like more.

For Angle, I want to say Angle-Benoit for the Royal Rumble 03, but aybe not anymore. How about Angle-Taker from No Way Out 06?

Personally, I don't think he watches any wrestling that he is not contractually obligated to watch.

Irony for this match is that it occurs in the very venue that housed Monday Night Raw for years.

Daniel Bryan has performed in front of WWE sized crowds... they just didn't speak English... primarily, so I guess they don't count.

Whatever, I don't need to go on a Cole rant. There's enough Anti-Cole material out there, after his Wrestlemania call. That horse is dead.

I'll take their Wrestlemania match.

Some others I think of: The match that turned me around on John Cena: John Cena vs Edge: TLC, Unforgiven 2006

Personally, the match where I caught on to Randy Orton was the Raw rematch vs RVD for the IC Title, but I assume most would count his breakout match, and one that seems to be a little forgotten, was the Backlash match vs Cactus Jack.

For CM Punk, I think most ROH fans would point immeadiately to the "5 Star Match" of Joe vs Punk II, which I would not. Honestly, for Punk, my favorite is probably his match vs Roderick Strong at the Future is Now. These days, I'd probably lean more towards the TLC match against Jeff Hardy.

Not to mention, I seriously doubt a new fan would even have the attention span to finish watching a hour match, let alone enjoy it.

I personally despise Cena/HBK from London. Long for the sake of going long.

Also, why show people the "best" matches from a wrestler first? Like my suggestion, these are new fans. So you're not going to get them to care if you make them watch a long match. Also, if you show them something like TLC from WM 17, good luck finding anything as good as that and those fans will stop caring since they've seen the best already. You're trying to make long-term fans of them, not show them the best and call it a night.

This was one of my favorite matches that I seen in my adult life. I also liked TLC 2 as that was pretty intense. When I was a kid I loved Hogan/Warrior and Macho Man/Warrior.
