The overpowered Action mechanic of the week on the FF boards was real time weapon switching. The chaps somehow believed it would lead to damage beyond what the strongest weapon was capable of dishing out (glitches aside), and that you were able to make use of multiple weapons' advantages at the same time. They had a hard time grasping and Action and Action RPGs had things in common. One even called hitstun overpowered while wondering why anything should ever have super armor. Saw a new-ish DMC3 TAS. Heavy use of RG and Ultimate Tempest for crowds. The latter is much more practical than it's given credit for.
His limited time with Dark Souls spent farming is what he equates with having more experience with either title than me as if that were reason for him to believe he knows better.
>grinding
>experience
wut.
I've spent more time watching average players like him (and better) go at it than he has actually playing aside from the fact that I was the one directing him and doing most sections for his first playthrough (and another guy's).
He would be wise not to bite the hand that feeds him.
Repeatedly doing the same runs with the same builds as per their preference.
Have either given Sorcery a shot?
Indeed, I may well have watched LobosJr do more with the game in challenge runs for DaS2 alone than he has spent actually progressing through a playthrough
Given the knowledge based nature of the game, that means a lot.
He's too much of a casual to really seek higher learning
Stand at distance. Chuck Lightning/Dark. Repeat.
dying to the basic Old Iron Knights in annoying fashion
He didn't know to strafe and wait out the three swing combo?
as he refuses to heal
WHY?!
while complaining how I don't give a shit about 'Sacrifice' Rings
Don't need them if you pick souls up normally.
if it were really a problem, fixing the ring and using it would be a thing as with late game when we are swimming in rings and high soul count
Can't level much normally then either due to the cost. Might as well blow it on spells and equipment.
I don't worry about Effigy's either (mostly existing for going at Darklurker).
Might as well be Lurker tickets.
I like to use up souls when I have them even when I don't have a higher goal to worry about (not especially) while playing as his guy since he's one of those chaps who cares about losing souls
VIT's worthwhile unit 50. Got plenty of points to invest.
He was the one insisting on Dark Pyro Glove, but doesn't want to do what it takes to level it nor go Hollow enough to get benefits from it.
Slap on a ring and you're capped at 75% health. Not like you'll be wanting it all the time. Just for Flame Swathe against bosses and whatnot.
So unwilling is he to adapt, he wanted his 'Dick Lightning' (like DSP) build to work well again, so back to v1.00 for us
Not entirely a bad thing. Heard the DLC level was well designed.
I tried for binoboost, but my timing is garbage, so I only get it for a half a second (ideally it lasts two seconds or so) and not quite half the time.
Not a major problem. Sure you'll improve with practice.
He agreed that my timing was bad and he would do better (proceeding to do worse).
How good of him to lift your spirits by feigning incompetence.
though Eternal says he doesn't make build plans...and no real combat tactics oftentimes from what I can tell*
Doesn't Dark Fog have low requirements?
I haven't watched playthroughs in awhile nor played directly (while he has), so when I make a mistake or get lost, it's as if I've been botching things for hours in his head
"It's like talking to a monkey."-Ysme
He didn't even see the sense in my testing for an easy way to get to Mytha from her bonfire where I first noticed only death resets certain things
I thought there was something screwy about environmental objects.
I rolled through all the pots in the way (making the jump difficult) of the lower ledge above two enemies blocking the fog gate (reducing fall damage to nothing without having to put on a ring or whatever).
Pots will break your fall?
Before I could test aggro range, he got impatient (second time through).
You must really handle a lot of these games for him. How'd he ever beat a boss on his own?
This as an alternative to killing those two repeatedly until they don't respawn
I elected to do so in my SL1.
He then went on to speak of how he's gotten good against her (only to die eight times in a row *often owed to not healing or doing so at inappropriate times*)
He should stream this shit.
He opted to trade with her (her sorcery for his spears). It was hideous to take in.
Looking forward to NG+?
I wanted to free Straid and get us Flame Swathe
No drops in Bellfry Sol?
Lingering Flame
Huge disappointment. Lower damage for two slots.
He is competent enough with Large Club 2H R2 locking, but just wasn't wrapping his head around the Power Stance dual maces (L1, I believe).
L2 is the triple heavy attack. Going to try the Mastodon Halberd or Greatsword?
It's pretty unlikely he'll try out GRS being that it eats 500 (whoopie) souls per pop.
But it breaks the game.
I want to try silencing things like Darklurker *leaving him only with melee 'casts'
It'd be a fun way to murder NPCs too.
I remember him arguing about how he didn't have to kill Lost Sinner in his first playthrough (he doesn't recall that I killed her because he was high).
On...enthusiasm?
Anyway, regarding the SoW skip, he wanted to go at it for whatever reason, so he kept going at it and got frustrated after an hour of falling
He shouldn't be dicking with finicky glitches if he can't get the normal combat down.
he takes the controller and completes the jump (going on to claim he did it all for us).
"Don't get so cocky."-Vergil.
I had to remind and advise him constantly not to be a retard and do risky things on the way to the bonfire.
You'd think it'd come naturally after a hard skip and dangerous road ahead.
He seemed to enjoy flirting with danger a bit too much and nearly got killed by a Royal Swordsman.
Does he not block?
In his head, all this was his doing (even the cautioning to play things safe and how to do just that).
And what did his head answer him?
I insisted we save Smelter for when we get Dark Fog+Bat Staff rolling
Interested to know how this turns out.
annoying damage reduction states in general
Was invaluable against Velstaadt in SL1.
would then go on to get Second Dragon Ring
What's the point of the unpatched game if you don't take advantage of how it differs from the others?
Nothing. May as well patch and switch to hexes.
How did that come up, I wonder.
It will forever be a mystery.
Business as usual aside from straight correcting their wrong opinions/statements.
I was amazed how bad he was at it. Referred to Christ as a 'magic man', Allah as a 'monster' (without being able to cite a single example of genocide or other Old Testament business *it's certainly there*), that everything religions taught was obsoleted by '2000 years of moral and scientific (?) advancements', etc. Below Oracle or even Waffle level of competence.
My, my.
Seems Vorkken's sweetspot for single target damage is the 20 man Morph, for the maximum five onscreen boomerangs. Underestimated Goggles, turned out great against Diedough-Goo *giant punching bags*. Dealt high damage and blows past their guard as a projectile.
A lot of them don't work with the AI enough, so they would quickly have to change their playstyle to one where you learn how it works
The relentless rushdown types probably have the easier transition.
DSP is a low level tournie guy (or was) and routinely gets raped by the AI on Normal for fighters (as he gets to the end of the ladders).
He was getting wrecked by low tier characters online in the new Street Fighter version.
It's a trick I like to use in other titles too (even GoW at some points).
Recall you noting so against PAIN+ Persephone.
We don't have many characters with ranged stuff though (much less projectiles).
Trickier to put in a 3D fighter.
There are characters that favor different distances, but I tend to prefer being at point blank much of the time
Might as well when you can't chip.
as with the unblockable uppercut set-up as they get up*
Get a full combo out of that?
I tried one out. Kept letting Gorgies escape my notice (getting me in trouble).
Takes a bit to get the environmental awareness back.
>DPS race
Wasn't much better solutions outside shooting it in the back with rockets first.
No Riot Shields to deal with bullets?
Doesn't look like it. They want it to be more offensively focused.
They doing PvP again?
Miyazaki hinted at it.
I don't recall such a case.
Zaheer's earth bending buddy can, though he doesn't seem to be able to manipulate metal without melting it first.
Everyone and their dog is doing lightning.
Korra isn't.
>rock banging
Wouldn't that make her bleed (more than usual)?
Microscopic organisms? Is Lucas involved?
Originally they learned it from the moon/animals, whereas Korra made it a gift from turtlelions they honed. They are showing some Lucas signs (forgetting how bending works, what they wrote, throwbacks that destroy the original character, entirely different setting). The Avatar is now just some normal bender with all four elements and the state, no particular spiritual connection or inert talent/power.
He never uses it for himself.
Fool.
It's the execution that is so amazingly bad.
AT's involvement wouldn't have helped at this point.
Plenty of retarded implications as well
Like a form more useless than SS3?
like Vegeta not controlling his ape state as a joke
He made a moon specifically to enter it.
People truly believe that Vegeta could only achieve SS4 through the machine.
Just a shortcut. Not like he didn't deserve one for a change.
Goku was made a child again.
What is it with anime and little shits ruining it?
His tail returned (by gods).
They couldn't have made him Mystic while they were at it?
He was brought out of his primal state (as an Oozaru) due to seeing Pan
Wouldn't her well being enrage him more?
Vegeta didn't need help (the only one who can control the state in canon).
"What a guy!"-Bard the Bowman.
You only need SS and Oozaru to become SS4 (for what would be at least a 500x boost thanks to 10x and 50x modifiers).
Wouldn't it have been smart to wish their tails back in DBZ? Like against Cell? Also, shouldn't Mystic take Oozaru into account (for being part of their potential)?
Bulma makes a machine to return his tail and suddenly it's all about how she gifted him the state (unearned while Goku's circumstances were legit somehow).
Bulma only gave Goku his life (by building a time machine to save him from disease).
That's beyond stupid,
The form's beyond stupid. That's what you get in non-canon territory.
Farnese sentenced her (unknown to her) half-brother's mother to death by burning (as a witch).
>first act is to remove potential Mother in Law
Forward thinker, this one.
She was appointed in a leadership position over 'advanced' troops (fancy nobles in a squad not meant to see action) of the Church as per their doctrine saying they needed a 'Joan of Arc' type
This was before Femto? An army wouldn't be necessary under his protection.
tradition demanded it even if the person had no qualifications
Like not being male?
Her being in the armed forces was to keep her out of the capital and out of trouble
She didn't take the hint?
as if she wanted him to be the person she got with
Well, long as she doesn't know it's less vile.
who is incredibly dangerous for her to be around
How so?
which greatly disturbs Serpico to the point he keeps trying to find times to kill Guts...pushing him harder than Griffith managed to by creating scenarios stacked against our 'hero'
God help Serpico when Guts finds him.
due to being around sacrifices who keep finding hot spots of evil activity
Guts does have a knack for being at the wrong places at the wrong times.
She clings to him as if he has all the answers
Dependent. Nice.
Guts appreciates her trying to be more useful
The way to a man's heart is through his retarded ex.
but harbors no affections or interest in her
He must be a genius to hang out with all these magic users infatuated with him and not have been turned into a pig already.
where it will likely mature to close friendship
He'd be wise to keep it. Never know when you need Cthulhu to wreck shit.
It's all about the potato for that boy.
Potatoes are quiet.
Far as I can tell, yes. Just that they were given no time to work on the game.
Must have spent more promoting than making it.
In this case, it would likely have been Dashing Shock (weak, free and goes through obstacles freely).
Wish I'd try it out.
All this rust, man.
"You're last years model."-Sam.
Tried to get an infusion (poison) for a bow in 1.00.
Thought you could give them element infusions.
Didn't seem like infused tools for casting caused spell types to gain poison either (sadly).
Great Heavy Soul Arrow with instant poison (and toxic) would be a great spell.
Still, plain poison arrows from Hunter's Bow do wonders for NG foes.
They were never nerfed, and much more abusive than Lightning ever was.
Poison Spotted Whip builds up equally as fast from what I can tell
I'd like it better if the recovery between strikes wasn't so long.
He needs the spices to control the universe.
Do these mortals think they could challenge the great and mighty Zeus?
I thought NG+ Sinner would have pyro back-up, but it didn't seem to be the case for an Ascetic caused higher game.
It doesn't if you're still on NG.
Had to, again, demonstrate that 100% blocking things is the shit
Tower shield is mastah race.
Made a grand display of poison/toxic for him using the mists and aforementioned bow/whip
Turned out well this time, but wish it'd stick around forever like in DaS1.
I also want to test the Hell out of Profound Still.
Nashy won't like that.
Get some mileage out of Strong Magic Shield as well (100% on all damage sources on all shields
Oh?
Pity that armor breaking doesn't factor at all for NPCs nor other enemies.
Could have been changed to reduced defense, at least.
Miss the ability to have partial invisibility.
Don't see why it's gone. It was never that good for PvP, was it?
ninja flips, son
And no one gave a damn about ADP ever again.
The gank squad boss fight really should have been Havel Mom, Stone Child and Giant Dad wielding the most obnoxious possible tools from DaS1 though
REAL Dark Sorceries? Our weapons don't seem to have the damage potential they used to (several thousand per stamina bar).
making only them drop that stuff when you fight them in manly solo offline
Covenant of Champions only. Done.
>TWoP
Gives us legitimate TWoD already.
The next DLC's spell types looked like things I would expect from the mod community.
Aggro ring?
