Actually, that was his natural skin color, he was Greek, he only looks white now since the oracle bleached his tanned skin with the ashes of his wife and daughter. Don't ask me how it bleaches skin when ashes are black, it was said in the first game in a flash back
I know, but it's still lame that it's just a different skin color. I thought he will have the general armor. The armor you speak of was from when he was a Captain. It came from a concept art called "Cool Armor Kratos" and looked bit different then normal Kratos. The model can be seen in the character graveyard of GoW1. The Armor was said to need stronger graphics to look good enough that they would include it...much like the original Centaur model.

Different ones need different things. for the god armor get an overall god rank on Challenge of the Titans.It's easy to find the requirements across the various game sites. The Comprehensive Thread would cover it if only GameSpot errors didn't stop me from updating it...then again I believe I covered that before the errors started messing things up. So you can reference that topic for the answers. I've got college so..time to go.
