The star bits banker in SMG2

He says he's going to try to get more star bits for me, so is he talking about interest?  Like, the more I put into the bank, the more I'll accrue over time?

I put 10 star bits in the bank and when I completed a level, I went and put more in the bank. He said he found 9 star bits, and he gave them to me.GamerofMario1

But, I think it is just random. I don't think it matters how much you have/put in the bank.

Your star bits are untouchable if you don't have other files being played by other people, and you get interest! Put your money in the bank, sir!!!
