So hey I was thinking about the GameCube [i have a lot of time to daydream at work] and to be honest I don't think this system got nearly enough credit I mean it awesome games it was reliable i loved the control but when I was a teenager I was one of only two gamers who bought one the other 30 or so gamers I knew all had ps2s and xboxs I mean I was lucky enough to own all three systems but why do you think the system never matched the competitions sales?? Do you think the GameCube was a success from a gaming point of view even if it wasn't from a sales point of view.

It's a wonderful console. My only issue was the library of games.

I have all three at the moment too.:D

I forgot the Wii can play Gamecube games.

I'll probably get some abuse for this, but I think the gamecube had better graphics.:P

Graphics aren't everything, it's just an observation.

The Gamcube was my first last gen console. Never owned an Xbox and played on a PS2 with my friends all the time, but I loved my Gamecube. I even still have one, probably should see if it still works. :P

I had all three as well. The Gamecube and those damn mini-discs were the reason for its position in the market. All the other key hardware components were top notch (graphically superior to the xbox and ps2 - played Madden 2003 on all three consoles). Again the sticking point was the mini-discs. Game developers did not like spreading their content accross mitliple discs. Played a Tiger Woods golf game and to alternate between the two discs constantly. Nintendo alleviated this problem for the Wii (I'm sure everyone iswas glad they did).

So what color gamecube did you have?

I love the look of the mini-disc, but they were not practical.
