An emotional experience that touches on levels games don't usually do so. As well as cinematic gaming brought to a new level.

I still have to try and beat that game. Damn, I hate being so lazy. -_-[QUOTE="stephenage"]Red Dead is an example of a game too long for its own good.Will47Your not the first person I have heard that from, how long is it?
In the probably between 15-20 hours if you only do the main story.

That's not bad, is there something else I don't know about or do you just like short games?[QUOTE="stephenage"]Your not the first person I have heard that from, how long is it?[QUOTE="Will47"][QUOTE="stephenage"]Red Dead is an example of a game too long for its own good.Will47

That's not bad, is there something else I don't know about or do you just like short games? The thing is, thats just the story and in that- lets say 20 hours- there is a lot of filler. That was the real issue with a game like Force Unleashed 2, not only is it short but its full of filler, RDR is a long game but the end is so dragged out... over multiple hours. This filler just shows that the game is too long for its own good, it would have been better if they kept the story a bit tighter and let the real length come from the open world.

I see now. On the other hand though, you know if they didn't put the filler in that people would have complained the story was to short :PIt's too late for Oblivion, seriously. And by that logic then you should buy Morrowind to prepare for Oblivion, and Elder Scrolls 2 to prepare for Morrowind.... and so on, and so on.stephenageI already have Morrowind :P
You need to buy Elder Scrolls 2 then. Or just play Morrowind.
[QUOTE="stephenage"]It would have still been a lengthy came, clocking in at about 15 hours. But in an open world game the extra length people want is in the sidequests and the sandbox activities.thrubeingcool13
Grand Theft Auto 4 has a similar problem. The missions aren't very long, but they are structured so poorly and there's so much travel time between them which pads out the game's length in a bad way. I feel as though you are aware of that though.
RDR has better structured missions, much better. They have checkpoints also.
