In general I'd imagine people solely choose the best looking picture. Mine is a joke up there :P I did it in 5 mins because I thought it was past the deadline. You can see where I was going anyway.

To be honest, 1109 seems to have alot of time spent in making it. Quite a bit of technique is on show. I'd bet joe has a template similar to that picture which he works one, which would be one possible explaination of why his pictures looks similar (they're all using light rings, stars, and semi-tranparent merging effects.)

Still very impressive, and I'd hope to achieve something like that in a few months time after I do more work at college using photoshop.

Well.... Joe always had a very "unique" style :P and well he is a proffesional on image editing, so dont feel down by the results :)

He's has been doing this for years, let's just put that way :P 

All of the banners were very good. I had such a hard time choosing. In the end I picked the one that drew my eye more. 

Well actually lordmew you are correct, we had a very similar banner entry a while ago.

If you click Cloud (KH Version) on this page, it's in our union database. It looks similar though only because of the picture of Cloud.

Jesus, that's pretty damn similar! I thought the way cloud is like half one guy and half another was joe's idea. This takes alot of shine off joe's version.

Well actually considering that we had a similar entry for the signature battle this year as shown below, I think it's just because the image is good to work with for designing:

Thats one of the very few FF images that has a good natural movement to it. Most others you find are just poses that you have to create a flow, and that always seems forced. joeadonis1
