Union Ideas Thread

Hey you guys, since GS is quite laggy and the views counter sometimes doesn't work, I was thinking of maybe finding one of those free views counter and put it on top of the homepage. It would be a more reliable way of knowing how many views we have. What do you guys think about this?

Also, this thread can be used for other union ideas.

Perhaps, that could work. Although I've seen plenty of unions that have tried doing this and it fails.

Also, I've added a view counter to the union's homepage. Since GS has a glitched view counter, we can use this one which is more reliant.

Yeah, now we won't have to rely on GS for knowing the views. I've started it at 0, although I bet we will pass the 1500 views in a short time.

The counter is a nice idea..

Glitch spot is so bad on keeping track...

Not sure about profiles either. They are a lot of work to maintain and they need to be done perfectly to have any chance of working.

The only bad thing about the counter is that it will only go up when someone visits the home page. If it was possible to put it in all parts of the union then it would be more helpful.

Still, GS finally fixed the counter again, and we got over 600 views which is pretty good for the size of this union.

Wow, +600 views is awesome! Also, I've got an idea that we could do. In the Halo Union, there is a feature, called the hot seat, where a poll is made and the winner of each poll then gets asked questions. It's a good way to get to know people and is fun.

Alright, I'll do it similar to how the Halo Union does it. I'll get a poll that will have 5 candidates to be chosen as the first person to be in the hot seat, and by Sunday, whoever is winning shall be chosen as the first person to be in the hot seat.julian_jr

The first message won't be till sunday probably. That is the day that I used to send out telegrams in unions to all members.

a weekly telegram is what i do on my Union, i would love to read how the Union is doing so far. it is a good idea, also this Union could use an Officer's Lounge so the Officers have a room to talk on.jediknight52501

I used to do that, a long time ago, but from what I see, it is a little pointless. The roll call thread does the exact same thing, and everyone can post in it.

Hmm, I'm out of idea. I have seen you post on the GS forums about this union, so that idea is out. I'd say come up with more features for the union.

Well posting in union recruitment isn't really that good though, since not that many people check out that board. Perhaps if we invited friends that we think would be interested in a place like this...

Like having some gamenights, I mean that wouldn't hurt. But then I got to thinking, 1. nobody might come to play, 2. Timezones might screw everyone up, etc..that kind of stuff.Racer_XLR

Gamenights would be tough to arrange right now. Perhaps when we have more members and more activity we could try that though, since it would be fun.

10 members right now would be quite a bit, considering how many members are in the union.
