Only a vote by post would be valid and known users who side with one platform historically can be ruled out if they vote for another platform

Since you can vote multiple options it'll work itself out. More people will vote their preferences than trolls doing the opposite.

4th gen - Sega = Nintendo

5th gen - Sony

6th gen - MS = Sony

7th gen - MS

PC . Left console gaming a long time ago . I loved it back then but it was a lot different than what it is today .

PC will always be my main gaming system. The day consoles come even close is the day consoles turned into PCs. I will be buying a PS4 later down the road when it has enough exclusives that I care about to warrant a purchase.

Sony + PC for me, currently.
Last gen, I also owned a Wii, but I could hardly find any games for it I was interested in. Same is the case with the Wii U now.
I'm also not interested in picking up an Xbox One yet because the exclusives so far don't interest me and I can play the multiplats on my PC / PS4.

Let's see what the rest of this gen has to offer.

Didn't know you could choose multiple ones at a time. If I did I probably would have chosen everything but PC since I never got into PC gaming, with the exception of playing RollerCoaster Tycoon 2 as a kid alot.

That may change one of these days though once I actually bother to get a better PC.

I would pick Nintendo or PC over Sony, but now that I think about it, I grew up with Sony home consoles in a more intimate way. I did have a gameboy, gameboy colour, gameboy advance but they fizzled out on me as time went on or as crazes shifted. My relation had a gamecube which hardly ever got used but to play Resident Evil 4.

Was also never in any good money so could never really afford a decent top end PC back in the day but had tonnes of fun with games like Starcraft, Warcraft, Diablo 1&2, damn I was a Blizzard whore, also EA with their MOH series and the Half Life game, not to mention the hype the C&C franchise had was booming too.

I'm more of a Nintendo guy than anything else. I do love me some PC gaming, though.

3rd gen - Commodore

5th gen - Sony

6th gen - Sega, Nintendo, PC

7th gen - Microsoft, Nintendo

8th gen - most likely Microsoft and then Nintendo once 3ds gets a reasonable price.

I love gaming on all platforms but If I was stranded on an island and could only choose one platform, it would be the one that had Mario games on it. I am a huge sucker for Mario Kart, Smash Bros and Mario platformers.

So as you can see specs don't really mean much without games imo.

A good way to determine your true preference is to count your library of games, and go by that. Doing that, my preference is easy:

Six shelves of Nintendo games

Three shelves of Sony games

One shelf of Microsoft console games

a few digital PC games

Therefor: Nintendo>Sony>Microsoft>PC for me.

Of all time? PC I'd guess, just so many games... But really I've enjoyed systems from many different companies over the years.

PC and Nintendo. Without these two gaming would have been doomed. Microsoft and Sony are just small fries.

The choices for Microsoft and PC are confusing. PC implies Microsoft Windows operating system.

PC - For exclusives

Playstation - For exclusives

Xbox - For exclusives and multi-platform

It is not confusing at all . Everyone knows what M$ means there . (Hint : Xbox Consoles)

PC is open platform that uses Windows as Operating System . PC stands for "Personal Computer" and people doesn't care about M$ just like how they abandoned PC as gaming platform . That is why GFWL is dead and buried . If someday Linux becomes bigger , developers will start to produce games for that OS on PC . Right now Windows is more profitable but it is all about Freedom .

For it'll always be PC, as it always has been.

Can't help feeling that the poll will be skewed by people with multiple accounts, which seems to be a favourite thing to do on System Wars.

Sony and PC obviously. I used to be really into Nintendo but not so much anymore.

Definitely PC, though I do love console games too...

I've enjoyed my Sony and Nintendo platforms. Steam is also great for my smaller budget games I play on my laptop. Microsoft platforms always get the least amount of use although they have a couple enjoyable games every now and then.

I chose Nintendo for the purpose of this list, but there should have been a fifth option. All of them. I buy all the hardware and play games by every company. Nintendo are my favourite, that's why I chose them, but I'd be foolish to not consider anybody but them. For as long as I have played video games I have played consoles from all the manufacturers as well as PC.

I've always had Playstations and Nintendo consoles. Never really gotten as much out of MS consoles.
