Xbox One. vs Playstation 4 User Interface

I really want to check out the Xbox One, but can't, because it's not out here.

I do like the Ps4's interface though. Fast, simple, and easy to navigate. Works for me.

PS4 one looks far more cleaner and sleek, but the xbox is pretty good.

Well i like Xbox One UI more because it seems to be easier, bigger and more modern. Also it has more features than PS4 has.

Xbox One UI feels like touch phone while PS4 feels like old phone without touch screen. Only thing i don´t like about Xbox One is this menu color but things like friend list, achivements looks more awesome and modern.

By 'Menu Colour' do you mean the green background? That can be changed (and a different colour applied to different users as well)

I know but i mean this background not icon colors. Well i think Sony and Microsoft both upgrade it in near future and then we can have different backgrounds. Microsoft said that they have people feedback and will change this even more user friendly. I still think Xbox One UI is best. More colorful, more modern and easier. PS4 UI is so confusing and takes so much time to find anything. You can´t even change menu unlike you can do that in Xbox One

X1 all day....I just like the look better but I am bias, plus I haven't experienced the PS4 yet ( because Sony sucks and can't make the damn things or I would have had one by now! )

FYI the Xbox Fitness is very impressive and can change working out at home forever.

Both are good I think, but I like XB1 a little more.

xbox one, simply because nothing matters with the layout, just saying a game to switch to it is amazing. My PS4 takes forever to switch games traveling the menus compared to the xbox one

My biggest gripe with the Xbox One is the voice commands not always working. Other than that the Xbox One UI is better but the PS4 UI has come a long way since the PS3.

The X1 looks the best but I really want fucking themes for the PS4. The UI looks so bland.

PA4 by miles. It's buttery smooth and I have access to everything I want.

ps4... and i hate the xbone ui, i would settle for a faster 360 dash at this point.

Xbox One looks prettier, but OS performance and overall usability goes to PS4, right now at least. Software always changes, especially Xbox OS. Just look at how much the 360 OS changed.

PS4 for me, easier to use and faster which is all i really care for in a UI.

TC, you need to add pictures of Twitter and UStream for the PS4.

As for the two systems...owning both, I can speak from experience. Both need work, both are pretty good. I hate, hate hate browsing the One Store. Mostly because the back button doesn't do what I expect it to do if I leave the store and go back in.

Store
For example, let's say I click through the store to download KI. I then go back to home to watch TV. I go back into the store. I push the B button with the expectation that it will take me back up in hierarchy in the store. Nope. It takes me back to the TV or the Xbox Home screen. That's poor design.

The PS4's store makes more sense, but is a bit slower.

Voice Control
One voice control is pretty solid as long as I talk louder than the television. Browsing around the OS or apps is much, much slower with voice control though. It's cool, but once the novelty wears off, I'll stop using it because it takes 5x as long to get somewhere with voice than it does with the controller. PS4 voice control works fine but is functionally limited.

Installing games
PS4 installs games noticeably faster.

Gaming
I think gaming on the PS4 is a better experience at this point, but it's a matter of preference. What's not a matter of preference, however, is the hardware power difference. That will affect every multiplat game for years to come.

Controllers
Both are great. I dislike the fact that I need AA batteries or rechargables or an expensive battery pack for my One. That's SO last gen, Microsoft. On the other hand, I dislike the fact that my PS4 controller can only hold a charge for 8 hours. Weaksauce. Otherwise, both controllers are the best both companies have made yet.

The little things
I really like the fact that I can push all sound through the headphone jack on the PS4 controller. That's a goddamn game-changer for me. I can play games or watch netflix or whatever the hell I want to do and not bother anyone in the room by plugging my headphones into the jack. Super great. One plays BD movies better. PS4 runs games better. One changes channels on my DirecTV receiver better than my remote, which works for me.

PS4's looks like its trying way too hard to be the Xbox One.

I'm not a fan of the PS4 interface I don't have an Xbox One so I haven't used it, but just by looks of give it to the Xbox.

Yeah Xbox One has easier, faster and more colorful(and modern) UI but most PS4 owners just vote PS4 to kill and hate Microsoft and Xbox One which is sad.

I prefer the PS4 interface. It's sleek, fast, looks a whole lot nicer and makes better use of available screen space.

I've never used the Xbox One however, so I can't speak for how smooth or fast the UI is.
