I think the sales numbers in the US compared to the PS4 tell the story. Not hard to figure out why Microsoft has the Titanfall bundle and free Forza 5 with an XB1 right now.

Forza can be played and completed without carrying out a single microtransaction, other than DLC, all cars can be earned just by playing and within a reasonable time. the credits/XP system was re-worked a month or so ago. Gran Turismo 5 has micro transactions, that to obtain the best cars is ridiculous money.

If Sony had been throwing in an extra game, you'd be loving it.

Lol, yeah really. Forza 5 is already a million seller and met the hype here in its review. But back on topic, MS is offering it as a marketing ploy to get people to buy a Xbox One, like every gaming company has done when they want to shake things up. MS needs a worldwide $100 price drop, but that's easier said than done from my home then convincing stockholders/execs that's the way to go. But they are so early in the life of this thing, and come March 12 I expect they will announce they are at 4 million sales. 2 behind the PS4, but no where near Armageddon like Cows describe. The path to success is nothing more than hitting the right price and offering games that people want. MS will move Titanfall like crazy, but the price drop is the true thing that will drive it through the rest of the year, along with debuting in the other 19 territories. MS can't worry about the PS4 as much as continue doing what they are doing now. Keep refining the OS with constant updates. Keep refining apps with Kinect-centric aspects like the Twitch app. Needs that for Netflix as well. Drop the price. They have big name franchises like Titanfall, Halo, Gears of War, ect - Kinect-centric games should be geared to families, while certain Kinect features should be offered as an enhancement to core games, but not necessary if the person playing doesn't want to use them. MS just needs to focus on that stuff and let the chips fall where they may.

Yeah, I do. They're shitty. I avoided them like the plague in DS3 and was (very) tempted to just buy the co-op weapons pack in BF3 instead of just finishing that part of the game. In the end, I'm glad I did it legit.

It's like that "fail a mission three times and have the option to skip" in GTAV. What's the point in putting down hundreds for a new console then more for a new game just to spend even more money skipping out on a game experience? And as it becomes more profitable in mainstream games it's going to become more and more prevalent. That shit should be kept to Candy Crush.
