Yeah I know, I've beenseeing lots of post about 80 gig and 60 gig PS3 percentage sales jump on Amazon which are meaningless aswell, two can play that game as you can see.

It makes sense since the price cut. Also consider big titles like The Matrix and most recently, 300 with features not available in the blu ray version.

I did, and that is such a stupid comparison. According to lemmings, the PS3 is nothing but a Blu-Ray player, so I'll just count those as standalone.

Sony and the blu ray scam artists releasing PS3 with blu ray and then trying to count them as units sold is hilarious.... how many people actually even own a non PS3 blu ray player? there are 100 movie watches to ever gamer... consider when that huge population goes to buy their next gen disk players this fall. As a better sales analyst for an industry leader, I cannot believe the clear lack of understanding of Disney and Blockbusterwhoare clearly just trying to jump on theover hype blu ray bandwagon that has inflated its numbers through the sale of a gameconsole. All the data suggest the next gen disk install base is so low that a simple group buy cancompletely swing the favor for one media format such as what happened with planet earth on HD DVD last May.

I laugh because "6million" people worldwide were tricked into buying a blu ray player instead of a game console... it was a good trick and thats the only reason blu ray is ahead.

Too bad there are way more blue-ray divices (including PS3s) in peoples homes... And Blue ray disc sales/rentals are owning HDVDVD sales/ rentals

And BTW target is now only carrying Blue Ray set top boxes. It still has the HD DVD drive for 360 however. Large retailers have been dropping support for HD-DVD left and right...

I agree, the format war is a pain. I've held off on buying DVDs so I can get them on a HD format once a standard has been chosen. But I can't take it anymore!

I'm surprisingly enticed by the HD-DVD player price drop and inclusion of 5 free movies. Especially with HD-DVD combo discs that I could buy now and use in the future, I might just have to go get one of those players. I'd prefer HD-DVD to win because I don't agree with Sony's blu-ray strategy.

It's all about software in this case as well and Blu-Ray has all the studio's support minus a few and I dont think Universal will renew their exclusivity deal with HD-DVD, so software in the future will lean heavily towards blu-ray and for the same reason 360 is beating ps3 game console wise, blu-ray will send hd-dvd into the sunset.
