Xbox 360 GTA version actually underperformed in sales.

GameStop has revealed their first-week sales numbers for Grand Theft Auto IVexclusively to Level Up, and they're certainly not too surprising. According to the specialty retail giant, roughly 64 percent of the copies sold were on the Xbox 360, with the other 36 percent (obviously) for the PlayStation 3.

Microsoft FTW? According to Level Up's number-crunching, an Xbox 360 victory is not quite so clear. Comparing the NPD group numbers that indicate a 9.9 million-user Xbox 360 install base versus 4.1 million PlayStation 3s (roughly 70/30), the Xbox 360 version actually "underperformed."

VG Chart has these numbers (ROUGHLY) as of May 10th, NOT THE FIRST WEEK:

PS3: 300,211

360: 262,532

I don't even own a PS3, but it doesn't take a rocket scientist to know that a reason GTA4 sold better on the 360 is because there are more 360 owners. I'm not saying it's the only reason, but it is a reason.
