It is possible that one of the two PC titles will be snubbed by GameSpot and the other review outlets for Game of the Year. A game getting a 9/10 from a review outlet does not guarantee that it will be considered for GOTY.

That kinda talk is just asinine. Videogames are to be enjoyed by anyone of all ages. The ratings go from E - A for Adults and also M 18 and up. How many children toys have you seen that forbid children to use?
But that aside, I do agree that pc's are far from child friendly which will always play a part in the pc's overall popularity.

Hype and Sales tends to win GOTY. And nothing can beat BOTW. Not saying its mine, I probably wont even have a switch until next year. But I dont see anything else coming close to it.

Nobody called Bloodborne a walking simulator and a petition was made for it because it is genuinely a pretty great game. Last time a petition was made for Dark Souls and sure enough it came to PC and became the best place to play it.
We call games like Uncharted 4 walking simulators because that's what they are. Kind of a shame the game is filled to the brim with climbing and pointless banter because the firefights are legit fun as hell. Naughty Dog got too carried away catering to its fans of cinematic experiences and had the gameplay suffer as a result.
Well, I will say one thing: it is going to be very difficult narrowing down the GOTY nominees this year. There are well beyond ten candidates that are deserving of such a potential nod. Some games, albeit deserving of that recognition, will be cut short simply because there's just so many to choose from.
