A retail tipster sends word that Walmart will be selling an Xbox 360 Arcade with a $100 gift card for $199 this Saturday.

The retailer will also be selling a Sony BluRay player for $148, according to our source, who included an image from the retailer's computer system showing the deals.

Sounds like a great deal or two, though as with all rumors, make sure to take this with a grain of salt until we can get verification or the official news hits on Wednesday.

At Walmart, $100 will only get you a 60GB HDD, so no game. But I guess that's still a better price than the Pro.

There have been deals like that for PS3 as well. It did little to nothing. A real drop in price to $100 would be huge......a one day sale doesn't do anything.darthogre

Don't know why anyone thinks this is a bad deal. You can get an Elite for 299, or you get an arcade and use the 100 gift card and the extra 100 you saved to get a hard drive and a couple games. Games you want, not the crappy holiday bundled games the Elite comes with.

Why get an arcade for 199.99 when you can get a Pro for the same price? If you get the gift card for 100 bucks you'd end up using it all for a HDD anyways. :shock:

Go to a Super WM, buy the 360, get the 100.00 GC go grocery shopping spending the 100 bucks on food and there ya go - 360 gaming and on a full stomach. :P

It's not really a 99 dollar 360, its a full priced arcade with a free game and a DVD at Walmart or 100 dollars worth of Walmart groceries. There have been many of times that I have convinced the cashiers at Wal-Mart (and others) to give me instant off instead of the GC. You just have to have an item(s) on your ticket that is greater than the GC and they will do it. It's Wal-Mart, groceries, fishing rods, a rifle. The possibilities are endless.

That'd be a fair price. It'd be cheaper than when the GCN was $150, and GCN is clearly the superior system between the two.

Calling BS here. Just went to Walmart.com and the only item that was listed in the screenshot that actually matched the "walmart number" was the xbox entry. Everything else had an entirely different number on their site vs. the pic.

I don't think a one weekend deal on 360 Arcades at one retailer would translate into a sales advantage for the entire holidays.

And if this turns into a Black Friday deal (as you intimated, and the other deals listed hint at) then they'll end up having around 12 per store and will be gone within minutes along with the cheapo HDTVs and laptops they put out every year. And that won't boost 360 sales so much as bring a few more crazies out for the 5 am starting time :P
