Would you be surprised if more kids are much more used to touchscreens than using controllers for fps/tps?

Poll Would you be surprised if more kids are much more used to touchscreens than using controllers for fps/tps? (20 votes)

Yes. 30%
No. 70%

Warriors, here we are, many console controller/mkb traditionalists but have you guys noticed if a lot kids today (roughly below 18) are playing fps/tps games using just the touchscreen on their phones/tablets?

Even at different homes when attending friends' and/or relatives parties', their kids mostly play together on their phones like fortnite, pubg and minecraft looking games.

Bonus question: Can this influence near future controllers or it's gonna be too much of a gimmick to implement in a controller.

I would be surprised, all my kids use controllers. Plus touch screen is horrible compared to a controller for gaming.

Depends on the game.

The Witcher 3 handles like garbage. Phantom Hourglass (which is objectively a game) works on a single pen, has better combat, better UI, better everything.

If you have quality company behind it, thinking about how to use, no issues.

Disappointed? Yes.

No because of mobile gaming like you said. Little kids pretty much cut their gaming teeth on mobile gaming these days.

No. The Nintendo ds is over 10years old, so touchscreen gameplay is nothing shocking to me.

Oh I don't know, I can't see how people use controllers for FPS instead of mouse and keyboard, so I guess I shouldn't be surprised if people use touchscreen too. People will use what they want to use, regardless of how poorly designed, slow, and inefficient it is.

That's interesting. People below 40, I've seen them play some sort of moba for smartphones and they are hooked on it.

I wouldn’t be surprised at all my nephews and nieces use tablets more then anything.

Even my friends kids use tablets more then controllers. I don’t get it but they all seem to love it.

I wonder when they can encorporate it on consoles.

Would've been nice for the Switch but the bezels are humungous making thumb use impractical unlike the VITA. If a home console does similar that makes good use of touch screen and gyro, they might be wasting enough time/resources to have double standards; for tv and when using a touch screen. Might be better off having more buttons on controllers or capacitive features.

I'd be mostly surprised. Most kids I know are very adept with controllers, however, many of their games don't necessarily need it. Kids are adaptable.
